WATERFORD — Todd Owen led the most laps in Saturday’s Fast 5 SK Modified feature. Tim Jordan, however, led the important ones.
He took the lead from Owen with 18 laps remaining on a restart and held off a furious Owen charge on the final laps to win by 0.138 in a 50-lap feature that honored two racing legends, George Summers and Rick Somers. (more…)

WATERFORD —There’s an old cliché that says if you don’t learn from history, you’re destined to repeat it.
Cory DiMatteo of Farmington learned his history lesson on Aug. 28 in the SK Modified Fast Five at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. He selected the inside groove on a restart with seven laps to go and wound up finishing second to Andrew Molleur. (more…)

Waterbury, VT and Naples, ME — A mix of new names and a slate of returning faces are set to keep fans on the edge of their seats at Connecticut’s Thompson Speedway on Wednesday, September 15. As the Outlaw Open Modified Series readies to return to the track for the $5,000-to-win Twisted Tea Tripoint Showdown 75, the fourth race of the season will mark the final tune-up for the return of the historic Thompson 300 on Sunday, October 10.

WATERFORD — Chuck McDonald came into Wednesday’s final X-Car feature with two things — a four-point lead in the standings and a game plan.
He got the most out of both of them. By finishing sixth in the feature, McDonald was able to pull out a one-point lead over Tim Burgess for the 2021 championship. (more…)
