Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park’s first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race in 11 years did not disappoint. Tasked with opening the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoffs, the 0.686-mile flat paved track located just outside Indianapolis, Indiana produced some stellar side-by-side racing that went into overtime ultimately naming Grant Enfinger of GMS Racing the victor.

NASCAR’s “Old Guys” Rule At Richmond

With the laps winding down, it looked like William Byron was going to win his second race of the year and extend the number of races won by drivers under 30 years of age. Stage 2 winner Martin Truex, Jr. had made his bid to close on young Byron but his tires were giving out, lapped traffic cane into play and he couldn’t get any closer than 2 seconds behind.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series was won by Ty Gibbs with Jeb Burton placing 11th, Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT was 12th, Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT came in 16th, Brett Moffit was 25th and Derek Griffith of Hudson, NH finished 26th  Burton, Alfredo and Moffit all are members of Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Our’s Xfinity team.  The couple reside in Harwich, MA.

After posting a top-10 finish in every race this season thus far, veteran NASCAR driver AJ Allmendinger finally took home the checkered flag at the Pit Boss 250 in Austin, Texas. This win marked his first of the 2022 season, 11th of his NASCAR Xfinity Series career and his series record seventh road course win (previously at Road America-2013, 2019; Mid-Ohio- 2013,2021; Charlotte-2020,2021).
