RECAP: Wright Motorsports Crowned GT World Challenge Champions at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., (September 7, 2024) – Wright Motorsports made their triumphant return to victory lane on Saturday evening, clinching the Indianapolis 8 Hour race win and securing the GT World Challenge PRO championship. Drivers Adam Adelson, Elliott Skeer, and Laurin Heinrich delivered a near-flawless performance in the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R, earning the first championship title for full-season drivers Adelson and Skeer in dramatic style. The GT World Challenge race victory was the second endurance win in a row for the Wright team. The first came here at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on September 22 capturing the Battle on the Bricks IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD class race win. (more…)

GM Poised to Sign New Supercars Deal

General Motors is set to sign a new agreement with Supercars, ensuring the Chevrolet Camaro races on in the championship in 2025 and beyond.

Supercars struck a deal with GM in 2020 for the development of a Gen3 Camaro race car, the IP of which is owned by the championship.

HIGH POINT, N.C. (Oct. 2, 2024) – There’s no place like home, as the saying goes, and when it comes to Cube 3 Architecture TA2 Series racing at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton, no one embraces that sentiment better than Silver Hare Racing.

The High Point, North Carolina-based team heads to the picturesque 3.27-mile, 17-turn road course ready to defend its dominating 2023 VIR SpeedTour victory with a three-car entry featuring 2024 fulltime drivers Jake Drew and Boris Said Jr. They’ll be joined for the first time since February by a familiar face, Connor Zilisch, who qualified on the pole and led every race lap on his way to winning this event a year ago this weekend, then repeated that feat for Silver Hare in this year’s season opener at Sebring (Fla.) ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Oct. 2, 2024) – Storylines abound throughout the four-car TeamSLR stable as it heads to the penultimate Cube 3 Architecture TA2 Series round of the season at Virginia International Raceway in Alton for Sunday’s VIR SpeedTour.

Its 2024 fulltime driver Barry Boes arrives at the 3.27-mile, 17-turn circuit on the Virginia-North Carolina state line with a seemingly insurmountable lead in the Pro-Am Challenge standings with an eye on clinching the title with another strong result this weekend. Joining him in the TeamSLR camp are teenage rising stars Julian DaCosta and Tristan McKee, and veteran driver Thomas Ellis, who will be making his fourth TA2 appearance of the season.

Live coverage of the IMSA Ford Mustang Challenge from famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) in Indianapolis, Ind., will be presented this Thursday, Oct. 3, at 1:10 p.m. ET and Friday, Oct. 4, at 1:55 p.m. ET, with both windows exclusively on Peacock.
Thursday and Friday will both include a 45-minute sprint race featuring two classes: Dark Horse and Dark Horse Legends, with the latter being an optional classification eligible to bronze-level drivers 45 years old and over. These will be the first Ford Mustang Challenge races ever held at IMS.

AO Racing Announces 2025 IMSA WeatherTech Return of Spike and Rexy

ST. CHARLES, Ill., (October 2, 2024) – AO Racing is proud to announce the return of the fan-favorite characters of Spike to the LMP2 class and Rexy to the GTD PRO class in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Further details are pending and will be announced at a later date, but the team’s future looks bright as they head into the final race of the season with next year’s plans confirmed.
