Barre, VT — Thunder Road International Speedbowl officially closed out the 2024 season on Saturday night at the Barre Elks Club with the annual Banquet of Champions to celebrate year sixty-five at the Northeast’s premier short track. MARTINSVILLE, Va. (Oct. 26, 2024) – Justin Bonsignore wasn’t going to be denied his fourth NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship, as he dominated the season finale Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300 at Martinsville Speedway to take home the Grandfather Clock and the year-end title.

The championship marks Bonsignore’s fourth title (2018, 2020, 2021, 2024), and the win – his first at Martinsville Speedway – gave him sole possession of second on the all-time Whelen Modified Tour wins list with 45.

  • Two regular drivers pilot the works-Porsche 963 in IMSA and WEC
  • Julien Andlauer signs on as the new works driver in WEC
  • Andlauer/Christensen and Estre/Vanthoor contest the WEC

Porsche is tweaking its Porsche Penske Motorsport works team driver lineup for the 2025 season. In contrast to the 2024 season, now just two drivers will regularly contest the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Former Porsche Junior Julien Andlauer from France has been promoted to the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer’s works driver squad for next year. Three-time Le Mans winner André Lotterer from Germany and four-time IMSA Champion Dane Cameron will leave the successful Porsche 963 programme after their contracts expire at the end of the year. Frenchman Frédéric Makowiecki and Porsche Motorsport have agreed to conclude their collaboration after eleven years. (more…)

Oxford, ME — One last go-round for the ACT Flying Tiger Tri-State Series brought twenty-four Vermont and New Hampshire drivers over the border to the State of Maine for Saturday’s championship finale for the three-race series at Oxford Plains Speedway. While an end-of-season Flying Tiger showdown has been held annually at Oxford Plains since 2019, Saturday’s showcase became a first for ‘North America’s #1 Support Division’ with a point-counting event crowning a champion at the 3/8-mile Maine oval!
