NY-Area Short-Track Racers Heading South for Daytona Season Openers

Daytona, Fla. — When the 67th annual Daytona Speed Week gets flagged away next week, it marks the unofficial start of the 2025 racing season.

For Central New York short-track modified racers, it also marks the start of their satellite racing programs at the New Smyrna, Volusia and All-Tech Speedways in the Daytona area.

Brett Deyo’s Short Track Super Series Modified Tour got the ball rolling with the 6th annual Sunshine Swing series at the All-Tech Speedway in Lake City, Florida from Wednesday through Saturday.

FLORENCE, S.C.: Chad Bryant Racing’s Treyten Lapcevich put on a clinic Saturday night at Florence (S.C.) Motor Speedway holding off a hungry pack of challengers, including Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Doug Barnes Jr. to win the prestigious South Carolina 400.

The Canadian-born driver, who also has dual Canadian-American citizenship and drives under the Allrem Racing program, made history on Saturday night by winning that race.
