Darlington Raceway To Roll Out 75 Greatest Moments Campaign Ahead Of 2025 Cook Out Southern 500
DARLINGTON, S.C. (June 17, 2025) – Darlington Raceway announced today that in celebration of the venue’s 75th anniversary, the track will be unveiling and highlighting the 75 greatest moments to have taken place at The Lady in Black. The campaign will be showcasing the legacy, culture, and evolution of the track “Too Tough to Tame,” while engaging fans across digital, social, and at-track experiences in lead-up to the 2025 Cook Out Southern 500, Aug. 31.
Chase Elliott To Race At Hickory Motor Speedway Thursday, May 22
(Newton, NC) – NASCAR Cup Series driver Chase Elliott is set to make a special appearance in the upcoming Ross & Witmer 255 at Hickory Motor Speedway on Thursday, May 22. The event, presented by Appalachian Sucker Punch, is part of the ASA STARS National Tour and Southern Super Series.
Friday Event Postponed at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Due to Heavy Rainfall
Nashville, TN – Due to a second wave of heavy rainfall at the facility, officials at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway have made the decision to postpone the Friday, May 2nd 1/4-mile racing program. A makeup date for the postponed event will be announced in the near future and could happen as early as this Sunday pending tomorrow’s event completion.
Kevin Harvick Named Grand Marhal For May 22 Hickory Motor Speedway Event
NEWTON, NC — NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick will return to his short track roots in a special way this spring, as he has been named Grand Marshal for the “Ross & Witmer 255” at Hickory Motor Speedway on Thursday, May 22. The event serves as the fourth race of the 2025 season for the Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour, co-sanctioned with the ASA Southern Super Series.

Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is set for a huge doubleheader weekend of racing this Friday and Saturday, May 2-3. Friday night will feature 5 divisions on the 1/4-mile with racing at 6:30. Saturday racing will start at 5:00 and will feature three traveling series including ARCA Menards Series East, ASA Southern Super Series/CRA, and the Nashville Pro Late Models.

Super Late Models & ARCA Heading to Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway for May 2-3 Weekend
(Nashville, TN) Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is ready to welcome the best of ARCA Menards Series East, along with the ASA Southern Super Series/CRA Saturday, May 3. The Music City 150 and the North-South Super Late Model Challenge 100 is part of two packed days of racing action starting on Friday, May 2 with a ¼-Mile Special.
Todd Gilliland, Long John Silver’s Ready for Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (August 28, 2024) – Todd Gilliland returns to the Darlington (S.C.) Raceway for the famed Southern 500. Long John Silver’s will partner with Gilliland for the crown-jewel event.
Gilliland heads to the 1.3-mile track facing a must-win situation in order to make the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. Gilliland has a career best finish of 11th at the “Track too Tough to Tame” in the Cup Series, and a 4th place finish in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. He finished 15th in the May Cup race at Darlington.
The weekend will kick off on Saturday, August 31 with practice and qualifying at 12:30 pm ET. The Southern 500 is scheduled for Sunday, September 1 at 6:00 pm ET. William Sawalich – No. 18 Starkey/SoundGear Toyota Camry Preview – Southern Illinois 100 at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds
SAWALICH ON DIRT: William Sawalich claimed his first victory on dirt two weeks ago at Springfield. Last year, the 17-year-old earned the pole for the race at DuQuoin and finished fifth after suffering damage during the race.
LAST TIME OUT: Sawalich claimed his second-consecutive victory at the Milwaukee Mile last weekend. Sawalich won the pole and led all but two laps on his way to the win. The 17-year-old has won his last four starts across ARCA Menards Series (AMS) – Salem Speedway, Elko Speedway, Springfield Mile, and the Milwaukee Mile. His strong day at Milwaukee helped him gain six points in the ARCA Menards Series East (AMSE) driver standings. He now sits 16 points behind the leader headed into the AMSE season finale at Bristol Motor Speedway in September. (more…)
