Charlotte, St. Louis, and Las Vegas Named as Host Cities

(January 10, 2025) – During today’s SMX World ChampionshipTM season opening press conference in Anaheim, CA, the SMX LeagueTM announced that zMAX Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway, The Dome at America’s Center, and The Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway will host the 2025 SMX World Championship Playoffs and Final in September. Wiscasset Speedway closed out their 2024 points season on Saturday and celebrated by hosting their biggest Strictly Street race of the year; the Strictly Shootout presented by Thayer’s Automotive. With a guaranteed $600 winner’s payout and thousands of dollars of contingency prizes on the line, 40 drivers showed up to shoot their shot at making it into the big dance.
The racing action kicked off with three extended 12-lap heat races for the Strictly Shootout, where the top 6 drivers from each qualifier would advance into the big show. Dan Brown, Dan McKeage, Jr. and Landon Tapley won these heats while heavy hitters like Jordan Russell, Nate Leavitt, Zack Emerson and others were forced into consolation races.
St. Louis Mo., (March 31, 2024) Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac took his first win of the season, and his first since returning from his 2023 Achilles injury, with 1-1-1 Race scores at the St. Louis Triple Crown Supercross. With the win at Round 12, Tomac became the sixth different rider to win in this highly competitive season. (more…)
After controversial contact between front-runners Cole Butcher and Mike Hopkins in the closing laps, Ryan Moore picked up the win in the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) St. Patrick’s 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway.
Wiscasset Speedway hosted their Group #2 Championship Night on Saturday, which was highlighted by the Amsoil Dominator Strictly Shootout. The annual event, founded by Dave Brannon and sponsored by Lee Mortenson and Four Season Synthetic, draws in some of the best Street Stock drivers from across New England. This year’s race was no different as 45 drivers competed for 28 starting positions in the main event. (more…)
Many local race tracks are beginning to crown their 2023 track champions, but Wiscasset Speedway still has a handful of weeks left on their calendar. With that being said, the track extended an invitation for all local drivers to come try their hand at Maine’s biggest and fastest oval this past weekend. Saturday didn’t disappoint as over 75 drivers showed up to compete in 5 different divisions. (more…)

PETERSBURG, Fla., (March 4, 2023) – The 2023 GT America Powered by AWS championship began this weekend in St. Petersburg, Florida, and Flying Lizard Motorsports closed out rounds one and two with driver Jason Bell and his Aston Martin Vantage GT4 earning one win and a second podium finish. Andy Wilzoch made his circuit debut in his No. 460 Porsche 911 GT3 R (type 911.2), earning a hard-fought seventh-place finish. (more…)

PETERSBURG, Fla., (March 2, 2023) – The GT America Powered by AWS season starts this weekend in Florida at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, and Flying Lizard Motorsports will ring in the new season with two entries: hometown hero Jason Bell in the No. 2 Aston Martin Vantage GT4, and Andy Wilzoch in the No. 460 Porsche 911 GT3 R.
