Here’s How the Northeast NASCAR Drivers Finished at Phoenix, Indy Cars At St. Petersburg

Chris Bell won the Cup race ….

with Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT finished 23rd while Boston’s Kaz Grala came in 30th, Corey LaJoie ended up 33rd and Joey Logano of Middletown, CT had to settle for 34th.  Corey LaJoie is the son of Two -Time Xfinity Champion Randy LaJoie who called home Norwalk, CT before moving to the Charlotte, NC area to be closer to NASCAR’s top divisions.
Chandler Smith took the win in the Xfinity race with Parker Kligerman of Westport, CT came in 8th with Anthony Alfredo of Ridgewood, CT cracking the top 10.  Blaine Perkins finished 13h while Kyle Weatherman was awarded 14th and Patrick Emerling of Long Island, NY placed 38th.  Perkins and Weatherman both race team cars for Our Racing which is owned by Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Our that call Harwich, MA home.
In the weather-shortened Menards ARCA West at Phoenix the winner was Wm.  Sawlawich followed by Gio Ruggiero of Seekonk, MA.
Also, the Indy Car circuit opened the 2024 season in St. Petersburg, FL.  Josef Newgarden ended up the winner while Santino Ferrucci of Woodbury, CT came in 11th.
