Barre, VT — Rain once again played its part in a Thursday at Thunder Road after plenty of the wet stuff fell from the sky to delay the start of practice on WDEV/Calkins Portable Toilets night. Officials remained persistent and dried the track on three separate occasions with the sun helping out on the final session.
Thompson, CT — Racefans and teams alike showed Wednesday that midweek racing is alive and well in Northeast Connecticut with a great crowd on hand to witness twenty-one top Tour-type Modified teams battle it out for the $5,000 prize waiting at the end of their 50-lap sprint. Stellar action in the SK Light Modified, Late Model, Limited Sportsman and Mini Stock ranks continue to prove that the respective track championship trophies continue to be up for grabs as remaining events begin to wind down. For the 10th edition of the event, Stafford Speedway officials have announced a base purse of $28,700 before any bonuses including $5,000 to the winner and $500 for last place. With the increase, the 11th place finisher will earn $1,000, making the August 4th event the richest SK Modified® race of the season.
