The 2022 playoffs continue without a playoff driver winning a race. This may be a season where the eventual champion may only win a single race in the final 10 races.

Tyler Reddick was the fourth consecutive non-playoff driver to win a race. Reddick was eliminated from the Round of 16 but proved that his remaining time with RCR will not go quietly.

Not only did ThorSport Racing’s Ty Majeski score his first NASCAR national series victory last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, but he also claimed the first berth in the Championship 4 Round set to take place at Phoenix Raceway with the championship season finale on November 4.

After running out of gas near the end of the race, Denny Hamlin finished 18th. In many ways, he is lucky that is as bad as it got after posting a racial slur meme aimed at Kyle Larson. Hamlin is lucky he hasn’t been suspended from NASCAR the way Larson was for his racial slur during a 2020 virtual racing event. Larson also lost his job at Ganassi Racing for that slur.

Noah Graigson won the Xfinity race at Talladega on Saturday while Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT took down 6th place, Brett Moffitt placed 10th with Jeb Burton finishing 15th.  Boston’s Kaz Grala ended his day early and placed 29th.  Alfredo, Moffitt and Burton are all team mates in the Chris and Mary Our racing stable.  The team owners are from Cape Cod and make their home in Harwich, MA.
