Two Free To Public Test & Tune Dates Announced For April 12th & April 19th At Riverhead Raceway

For baseball fans the first crack of a bat at spring training is a welcoming sound a new season is near. For race fans of Riverhead Raceway on Long Island, it’s the roar of racing engines taking to the historic track for the first time welcoming in a new season. On Saturday April 19th the sound of race engines and a sweet smell of Sunoco Race Fuels will permeate the air at as the track hosts the first of two test & tune sessions with free grandstand admission for race hungry fans. A second test & tune day is planned for April 26th, a prelude to the Pack the Track NASCAR opener May 3rd and May Meltdown Enduro lid lifter Sunday May 4th kicking off the 75th Anniversary season.

The bad-fast two-day (expanded to a second day after a damp track delay on Tuesday morning) NASCAR Xfinity Series/NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series test at Rockingham Speedway concluded on Wednesday afternoon. ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (Jan. 21, 2025) – Rockingham Speedway will host an open organizational test Tuesday, Jan. 28, in preparation for the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series return to the historic one-mile oval. Track Enterprises announced in August that it reached an agreement with Rockingham Speedway ownership to bring the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series back to the venerable Richmond County speedway April 18-19, 2025. The Autopian Gave A NASCAR Driver An 819-Horsepower Electric Car To Test Drive On The Track, Here’s What He Thought

One of The Autopian’s fearless leaders, Matt Hardigree, had a Lucid Air back in the summer of 2023. He came to Chicago with it for the inaugural NASCAR Street race and asked me to meet him for an Autopian meet-up. He brought me to some famous hot dog place where there were no seats and I couldn’t eat any of the food, but the company was nice. Eventually, I had to head back to get dinner as the next day I would be racing on the track. He offered to drive me back to my hotel because the biblical rain that would plague that whole weekend had arrived. (more…)

Alpine Endurance Team Announces Its Line-Up For The 8 Hours Of Bahrain And Victor Martins To The Rookie Test

Recently appointed Alpine Endurance Team Sporting Director, Nicolas Lapierre will begin to familiarise himself with his new role at the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship season finale, the 8 Hours of Bahrain (2 November).
As a result, reserve driver Jules Gounon joins Paul-Loup Chatin and Ferdinand Habsburg in the #35 Alpine A424.
Charles Milesi completes the trio in the #36 Alpine A424, alongside Matthieu Vaxiviere and Mick Schumacher.
This adaptation is linked to practical criteria to balance the crews regarding driver size.
Alpine Endurance Team also announces Formula 2 and Alpine Academy driver Victor Martins for the Rookie Test session on 3 November.
As a member of the Alpine family, Victor will get behind the wheel of the A424 and provide the team with a fresh perspective for its maiden Hypercar run.

Barre, VT & Naples, ME — The 0.625-mile oval at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park is back to rip-roaring action this Sunday, September 8 for the Back to School Bash! Headlined by the Back to School Bash 75 for the Thompson Late Models featuring a $17,000 purse, including a $5,000 winners share, the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds, AZ Roofing SK Light Modifieds, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks make it a full card of Sunday afternoon racing at the Big-T!

The Thompson Late Models are expecting quite the invasion for Sunday’s Back to School Bash 75. Top runners Nick Johnson, Derek Gluchacki and Brian Tagg will be among the weekly track championship faithful ready to hold back the flood gates and battle hard on the highbanks for the $5,000 winner’s prize!
