NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Race at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park Postponed
Icebreaker 150 postponed to Saturday, April 5
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 27, 2025) – NASCAR and Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park have postponed this weekend’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event due to a forecast of continued rain and cold temperatures forecasted for Sunday. The race has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 5. The start time will be announced at a later date.
The Icebreaker 150 was originally scheduled for this Sunday, March 30.
Icebreaker Saturday is On as Scheduled, NASCAR Moved to April 5th
Thompson, CT — The Saturday portion of the 51st Icebreaker at Thompson Speedway is on as scheduled for Saturday, March 29, as is Friday’s planned Practice Day. However, due to continued rain and cold temperatures forecasted for March 30, the entire Sunday schedule of divisions and events have been moved to Saturday, April 5.
The published schedule for both Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 are still a go with an improving forecast. All originally planned events, times and pricing will remain the same for both Friday’s Practice Day and Saturday’s Day #1 of Icebreaker weekend, including the Monaco Modified Icebreaker 75. (more…)
Luke Baldwin Set For Triple Duty Weekend at Martinsville, Thompson
A busy three-race weekend for rising driver Luke Baldwin will bring him over 700 miles across the East Coast – nevermind over 400 laps on the track. Baldwin will compete in three different events at two different tracks – Martinsville Speedway and Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park – in both a Truck and a Modified.
Baldwin will drive three different cars in the three events.

After a month off, the 40th anniversary season of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour roars back to life Sunday afternoon at Connecticut’s Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park with the running of the Icebreaker 150 (4:30 p.m. ET on FloRacing).
The race marks the 156th time since the creation of the Modified Tour in 1985 the series has visited the historic oval. In fact, the first Modified Tour race was held at Thompson on March 31, 1985 and won by NASCAR Hall of Famer Richie Evans. (more…)

Jonathan McKennedy Announces Busy 2025 Schedule Between Tour-Type Modifieds, Supermodifieds
Modified and Supermodified winner Jon McKennedy announced Thursday a busy schedule for the 2025 racing season. Again for 2025, McKennedy will compete in both the Tour-Type Modifieds and the Supermodifieds, mixed between multiple different divisions with both classes.
Between all divisions, McKennedy has roughly 35 races planned.

When the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour visits Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in 2025, race fans will have the opportunity to see a special tribute scheme hit the track. Patrick Emerling, driver of the No. 1 Fleetworks Inc. Modified, will carry a special tribute scheme, throwing back to Geoffrey Bodine’s No. 1 Big Red Machine owned by Dick Armstrong. The scheme will be on the track for all three NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races.
