Unpredictable Daytona International Speedway Up Next Under The Lights For Cup Series

All eyes will be on the Daytona International Speedway as the iconic hallowed grounds will play host to the NASCAR Cup Series penultimate race of regular season, the Coke Zero Sugar 400, this Saturday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Channel 90). The World Center of Racing is currently riding a streak of seven different Cup Series winners dating back to 2021 – Michael McDowell (Feb. 2021), Ryan Blaney (Aug. 2021), Austin Cindric (Feb. 2022), Austin Dillon (Aug. 2022), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (Feb. 2023), Chris Buescher (Aug. 2023), William Byron (Feb. 2024) – making the unpredictability of this event that much more intriguing.

Daytona International Speedway, the 2.5-mile paved superspeedway oval located in Daytona Beach, Florida, has hosted 154 NASCAR Cup Series races since the inaugural event in 1959 – 66 have been 500 miles, 61 were 400 miles and four were 250 miles. There were also 23 qualifier races that were point races. But this weekend marks just the first time the summer race will be the NASCAR Cup Series penultimate race in the regular season. Daytona served as regular season finale from 2020-2023.

Barre, VT — While a rightfully dreary forecast tattered Sunday plans for the American-Canadian Tour at Thunder Road, Mother Nature laid the groundwork for something New England race fans had been craving since last October. The 26th annual Community Bank, N.A. 150 was the first of its existence to be under the lights of the Nation’s Site of Excitement on Saturday night, and exciting it was. Thirty-nine American-Canadian Tour Late Models were whittled down to a twenty-nine car starting field for a fantastic showing at the Tour’s homebase with many storylines competing for the top spot! After the elimination race in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Round of 10 at Kansas Speedway last weekend, two drivers were eliminated from the Playoffs – Matt Crafton and Matt DiBenedetto. Now, the series heads to Bristol Motor Speedway to kick off the Round of 8 for the UNOH 200 presented by Ohio Logistics on Thursday, September 14 at 9 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN, and SiriusXM Radio.

This Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series will be returning to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart (July 9 at 7 p.m. ET on USA, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), and this go-around the competitors will have to navigate the high-speed, door-to-door action for the first time ‘under the lights’ since the 1.54-mile track was recently reconfigured by narrowing the racing surface and raising the degree of banking in the Turns to 28 degrees.

CRAFTSMAN Truck Series to Race Under the Lights at Kansas Speedway

After a two-week break, the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series jumps back into action under the lights this weekend at Kansas Speedway for the Heart of America 200 (Saturday, May 6, at 8 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

Kansas Speedway has hosted 25 CRAFTSMAN Truck Series races with the inaugural event coming in 2001, a race won by Ricky Hendrick. It was his only career win in the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series.
