DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Longtime sports car aficionados may note the name “van der Steur Racing” as a deep cut from a prior era.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Van der Steur Racing is no stranger to the IMSA paddock, with a presence dating some twenty years.
Most recently, the team founded by former racer Gunnar van der Steur has competed in the Grand Sport (GS) class of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. For 2025, VDSR will move to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship side of the paddock as it steps up to campaign the No. 19 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo in the Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) class. Van Gisbergen Wants To See NASCAR Star In Supercars
Shane van Gisbergen has no interest in a one-off return to Supercars but would like to see how Kyle Busch or Kyle Larson contest the Adelaide 500.
Plans were hatched for a Mobile X-backed wildcard that would have put Busch behind the wheel of a Triple Eight Camaro at this year’s event. However, Busch ultimately opted not to race. (more…)

Van Gisbergen ‘In Pain’ Over NASCAR Playoffs Miss
Shane van Gisbergen believes his short-lived playoffs run can ultimately be traced back to a DNF at Talladega Superspeedway.
In an article on SpeedCafe by Simon Chapman, Van Gisbergen wrecked at the famous high-banked oval with 20 laps to go, putting him below the cut-off line.
Expectations for the ROVAL race at Charlotte Motor Speedway were high given his road course prowess.
