Chemung, N.Y. – (May 1, 2021) – Chemung (N.Y.) Speedrome will provide the stage for the Race of Champions Modified Series return to racing in its home state of New York. The series was “idle” in the Empire State during the 2020 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic that wreaked havoc worldwide. (Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour for the NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler with the SK Modififeds®, SK Lights, and Vintage All-Stars in action. Scoring feature wins were Stephen Kopcik in the 40-lap SK Modified® feature event, Derek Debbis in the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature event, and Ben Levangie in the 15-lap Vintage All-Stars feature event. NASCAR Xfinity Series News & Notes – Talladega Superspeedway
The NASCAR Xfinity Series was off last weekend as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Cup Series took on Richmond Raceway. Prior to that, the NASCAR Xfinity Series was in Martinsville, Virginia for the Cook Out 250. The race was postponed after weather took over during the originally scheduled start on Friday. The race was rescheduled for Sunday, April 11 and the series crowned another first-time winner in JR Motorsport’s driver Josh Berry. (more…)
Track Talk – Savary To Take On Thompson Speedway’s Outlaw Modified Race This Weekend; Other Notes
Richard Savary of Canton plans to take in the Outlaw Modified race this Saturday, 4/11/21 at the 5/8-mile Thompson Speedway in CT which will open the 2021 racing season. He originally planned to only race in the Tri Track Open Modified Series which is comprised of just six events this season.

I heard how much different this car was, and I wanted to see it for myself. Darlington is one of the top 3-4 most challenging tracks we get around. It might be the most difficult. This track in turns 1-2 is different than 3-4. I really wanted to get to drive this car and see what this thing’s like at a track that I’m comfortable at. I have a good understanding of this track, and what it takes to get rubbered in and what direction to go to hopefully find us the best tire. (more…)
