Sunday, April 5, 1992 – On this day in history, NASCAR Hall of Famer Alan Kulwicki stretched his short track muscles leading 282 of 500 laps and winning from the pole in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway. One of just two wins during his famous championship 1992 season (Bristol-1, Michigan-1).
Sunday, April 5, 1970 – On this day in history, brothers Donnie and Bobby Allison raced their hearts out at Bristol Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Cup Series finishing 1-2, respectively. Interestingly, of Donnie’s 10 career NASCAR Cup Series wins, this being his third, in his first three wins (Rockingham, Charlotte and Bristol) his brother Bobby finished runner-up.
