N. Woodstock, NH — Officials from White Mountain Motorsports Park and the Modified Racing Series (MRS) have confirmed the return of MRS to the North Woodstock, NH oval on Saturday, June 4. The White Mountain 100 will be the sixth time the Modified Racing Series has competed at the quarter-mile oval and first since 2020.
With no other Tour-type Modified events currently scheduled in New England for the June 4 weekend, a strong field is expected at the White Mountain 100. MRS will be joined by weekly champion action for the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models, Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers, and Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Mini’s.
The Modified Racing Series joins a schedule at also includes three visits each from the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Late Models and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models, The J.P. Sicard Triple Crown Series, the PASS Modifieds, the North East Mini Stock Tour, a trio of 100-lap weekly Late Model races, and the $5,000-to-win R&R Race Parts NH Street Stock Open. With two Saturday-Sunday doubleheaders and 20 event weekends in total, the 30th season of White Mountain racing is shaping up as a memorable anniversary campaign.
The last time MRS appeared at White Mountain, former Stafford Motor Speedway Champion Ronnie Williams took the victory in a field that also included standouts Woody Pitkat, Kirk Alexander, Brett Meservey, and Andy Shaw among others. Alexander is the only multi-time MRS White Mountain winner with three victories spread across the 2004 and 2005 seasons. The series was founded in 2004, making 2022 the 19th year of MRS competition. “We’re thrilled to have MRS coming back to White Mountain,” track co-owner Cris Michaud said. “They have a history of great racing that goes back nearly 20 years. The series was on the rise in the second half of 2021, and we think the time is right for them to return. We’re looking forward to a great show for our current fans and introducing new fans to the track.”
In another addition to the 2022 schedule, White Mountain has confirmed the return of the Senior Tour Auto Racers (STAR) on Saturday, July 23. The Massachusetts-based vintage racing series has been a staple on the track’s schedule in recent years and will again bring the Modifieds and Sportsman cars of yesteryear to North Woodstock.
To accommodate the visits of MRS and STAR, White Mountain has made several schedule changes for the Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division and Arnolds Wayside Diner Dwarf Cars. The Kids Division dates have been shuffled with new races on May 29, July 30, and September 10 replacing events originally slated for July 23, and August 20. The Dwarf Cars have been moved from September 10 to September 3, joining the Leaf Peepers 100 on Labor Day weekend.
