Re-live the glory days of the short track and dragstrip on Route 1 in Norwood that was nicknamed “The Little Daytona”. The movie features segments on NASCAR champion racers Leo Cleary, Bugsy Stevens, Wild BIll Slater, Don MacTavish and 1970 Daytona 500 Champion Pete Hamilton, among other well-known drivers, sportswriters and fans.
Through this movie, you’ll learn why Norwood Arena Speedway was so beloved in its time and so fondly recalled today. Narrated by Patriots Hall-of-Fame announcer Gil Santos, this emotional film is packed with rare photos and vintage home movies. The story is told through first-person accounts of those who lived it!
