Flying Lizard Motorsports Aims to Keep Championship Charge Alive at Watkins Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y., (June 18, 2025) – With the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season at its midpoint, Flying Lizard Motorsports arrives at Watkins Glen International ready to keep the momentum rolling after a dominant showing last month at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The Sonoma-based team, which earned a win and two additional podium finishes in Monterey, returns to the 3.4-mile circuit in New York’s Finger Lakes region for Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2025 championship with its two-car Pro/Am entry hungry for more hardware.

Slade Stewart and Andy Lee, fresh off their Race One victory and third-place result in Race Two at Laguna Seca in the No. 14 Sparklefarts Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, are squarely in the thick of the Pro/Am title fight. The pair currently sits 13 points behind the championship leaders, with everything still to play for in the ultra-competitive class. Their Flying Lizard teammates, Marc Miller and Paul Nemschoff, are also in striking distance in the No. 41 Lamborghini, following a second-place finish in Race Two and several strong performances this season. They sit in third place, six points away from the class leaders.

This weekend marks the series debut of the new Hankook L63H tire in North America. With enhanced durability and improved grip, the new rubber introduces an added element of strategy and adaptation. Though Flying Lizard, like most teams, had the opportunity to test the tire during official sessions in May, Watkins Glen will be the first full-race weekend on the compound, promising unpredictable battles across all four classes.

The 37-car grid, split among Pro, Pro/Am, Am, and LB Cup, will tackle the sweeping corners and elevation changes of Watkins Glen with a doubleheader format, featuring two 50-minute races on the weekend schedule. Flying Lizard’s pair of Pro/Am entries, representing Lamborghini Newport Beach, will look to shake up the points standings and continue the climb toward the top.

Racing action begins with practice sessions on Thursday and Friday, followed by Race One on Friday at 3:00 PM Eastern and Race Two on Saturday at 4:10 PM. Both races will stream live on IMSA.tv and Peacock, with timing and scoring available via imsa.com/scoring.
