20-Year-Old Jonathan Shafer To Contest Virginia Late Model Triple Crown With Hettinger Racing

Three-Race Miniseries Begins This Weekend at South Boston Speedway

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (June 25, 2025) – The Virginia Late Model Triple Crown features three of the East Coast’s biggest Late Model Stock races, and 20-year-old Jonathan Shafer has cast his lot with Hettinger Racing for the popular grassroots miniseries that begins this weekend at South Boston Speedway.

Shafer will drive the No. 5 Chevrolet in Saturday night’s Thunder Road Harley-Davidson 200 at the .4-mile oval before tackling the July 19 Hampton Heat at Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway in Hampton and the Sept. 27 ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway.

PIT BOX: Return To White Mountain Motorsports Park Awaits Whelen Modified Tour Teams

For the first time in five seasons, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour is returning to White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, New Hampshire, this Saturday for the running of the Thunder in the Mountains 200 (8 p.m. ET on FloRacing).

Saturday’s event, the sixth of the 2025 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season, marks just the third race for the series at the New Hampshire quarter-mile. The series first visited White Mountain during the 2020 season. Amid COVID-19 restrictions, Justin Bonsignore and Doug Coby each collected wins at the venue as race fans clamored for a return to normalcy.

Seekonk Speedway Set To Roar To Life With Mid Week Madness June 25

SEEKONK, Mass. — The annual mid-week showdown at Seekonk Speedway is here, with a different twist for 2025. This Wednesday night, June 25, the Action Track of the East will light up again for a special race event with both the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series and American-Canadian Tour coming to town.

Both divisions will compete in a 125-lap contest, with racing action set to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Richie Davidowitz Fends Off AJ Desantis For Riverhead Raceway Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modified 100 Victory

During a race drivers’ career some victories feel more significant than others for varying reasons. For Richie Davidowitz of East Moriches and his Rat Pack Racing team their victory Saturday in the Eagle Chevrolet Crate 100 at Riverhead Raceway is one of those wins. Setting fast time in qualifying and leading all 100-laps served as sweet redemption for the new pairing who had a runner-up finish stripped away after a tech infraction a couple weeks back.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted round 2 of the Tick Mike Triple Crown for its SK Modified® division with the 50-lap Call Before You Dig Senator’s Cup on Friday, June 20^th. The race served as the second of three legs of the TickMike.com Triple Crown and Michael Christopher, Jr. was the winner for the second consecutive week. Christopher’s victory was also his third consecutive victory in the CBYD Senator’s Cup 50-lap feature event. Other feature winners on the night were Paul Varricchio, Jr. in the Late Model feature, Nickolas Hovey in the SK Light feature, Kyle Theriault in the Limited Late Model feature, and Aaron Plemons in the Street Stock feature. Andy Jankowiak, of Buffalo, N.Y., made the most of a return to Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series action, holding off his protégé Mason Hanel of Clarence, N.Y., to capture the 40-lap feature win.

Vallée-Jonction, QC — The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour rolled into Autodrome Chaudiere on Saturday morning, bringing with them a second broken record in car count for the 2025 season. After setting the original Late Model car count record of thirty-three for Chaudiere back in 2019, matching it again last year, thirty-six Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour pilots invaded the Beauce oval for the Claude Leclerc 150.

Three rounds of qualifying whittled the thirty-six prospects down to thirty starters for the big dance Saturday afternoon with St-Denis’ Patrick Laperle earning the pole position with an incredible +5 in Plus/Minus handicap procedures with Quebec City’s William Larue, running the #46VT livery for Brian Hoar, set up alongside with a +2.

Addison Meitzler of Kempton, Pa. and Jesse Landis of Gilbertsville, Pa. were also winners on Saturday night in the first ever Twin 20-lap feature program for the T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman division, as Grandview Speedway finally returned to racing after battling weather issues the last three weeks.
