SEEKONK, Mass. — Seekonk Speedway is hitting the middle of the month of July at full stride. As the summer continues to heat up, the action on the track is getting hotter each week. There are just five scheduled Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday events left before the fields are set for the Sunoco Drive For The Cup championship battles in September – and this weekend – both Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday return to the track looking for more fireworks.
The major event of the weekend is slated to be the 80th Anniversary Series Pro Stock special. It will pin the weekly competitors together for their second straight race over 75 laps. Last week, Dylan Estrella added his name to the list of 2025 winners, holding off Jacob Burns in a final dash to the finish to score the feature win in the American Racer Pro Stock 75. Estrella now sits just two points back of a tie between Burns and Bobby Pelland III in the championship standings. Speaking of Pelland, the driver of the No. 12 showed some fast pace during the American Racer 75, coming close to Victory Lane. Pelland will be back to compete against Burns, Estrella, David Darling, Vinnie Arrenegado, Mark Jenison and many more in this week’s 80-lap event. The race helps throw back in time to Seekonk’s history as the track celebrates 80 years of short-track racing in Massachusetts. Look for Nick Lascuola to try and seal the deal, after leading both of the last two events and coming up just short. Or, can someone like Colbey Fournier, Mike Brightman or Andrew Gomes find success in the special event?

The Late Models ran their 80th Anniversary Series special last week, and Charlie Rose dominated the second half of the race, roaring to victory. The most veteran division competitor rolls into this week looking for his third win of the year. He will have to contend with points leader Chase Belcher, who has one victory on the season, but has been consistently at the front of the pack. The same can be said for Luke LeBrun, the defending Late Model champion, who has two victories in the season so far, and has been on the podium many times. Richie Murray led a large portion of the race last week, and is still looking for his first win of the year. Andrew Gomes also led the 80-lap special, and is winless. They are joined by Mark Jenison, David Lougee, Tyler Lallier and others looking to break into Victory Lane for the first time in 2025. The Late Models will go for 30 laps this Saturday night.
In the Sport Trucks, DJ Thibeault is coming off his first win of the year last week. After struggling a bit with the Truck, the team found the right combination to blast him to the front and earn him a trophy. This week, he starts mid-pack looking to charge back to the front. The man to watch in the Trucks lately has been Dane Saritelli. The driver of the No. 45 has multiple second-place finishes and is inching closer and closer to his first win. Could this week’s 25-lap race be the night? He is joined by season winners Mike Cavallaro, Ethan Heilborn, Jake Vanada and Rick Martin, along with names like Tim Bolger, Amy Helger, Mike Duarte and more as the Trucks return to the track for 25 laps this Saturday night.

Seekonk Speedway Fast Friday returns with five races to go until the Sunoco Drive For The Cup fields are set.
The Pure Stock division has watched five different drivers win in the first six events of the season. Brent Robidoux is the only driver with multiple wins, while Mike Henriques, Ethan Souza, Jared Cordeira and Danny Massa have also been there. Looking at the championship standings, who might be next to add their name to the list? Look no further than Matt Talbot, Rookie of the Year contenders Zachary Keith and Crystal Murray, Peter Bleau and additional Rookie driver Bryson Robidoux. The Pure Stocks continue to showcase some exciting side-by-side racing. Will there be another new winner in their 25-lap contest this week?

Seekonk Speedway’s youth racing is strong in the Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws, both sponsored by Seekonk Grand Prix. They return to the track again this week for 15-lap main events. In the Bandits, Landon Solomito is coming off his second win of his career. He is joined by Jace Chaber and Landon Heim as winners so far during the 2025 season for the Bandits. Getting closer and closer to Victory Lane are Carl Satterlund Jr., Brook Meyer and Elias Dib. Are they going to grab their first career checkered flag this week?

The Sport 4 division looks to run through Richie Johnson. After winning the first two races of the season, Johnson hasn’t finished off the podium at all in 2025. As he continues to be impressive, there are many others looking to chase him down. Names like Jacob Budzyna, Arthur Meack (two wins), Christine Cavallaro, Hannah Arsenault, Daniel Hayes, Samantha Sleboda (winner) and others have all shown speed in 2025. The Sport 4 division is back this week with 25 laps of excitement.
