As a roadgoing vehicle, the Chevy Camaro is officially dead. The final example of the muscle car rolled off the assembly line at GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan on December 14th, 2023, but there’s still some life left in the nameplate, at least as far as motorsports goes. NASCAR Chevy teams will continue to field “zombie” Camaro race cars, which, as it turns out, might not be called Camaros at all. (more…)

William Sawalich Joins Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR Xfinity Series Lineup in 2025
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (October 21, 2024) – Joe Gibbs Racing announced today that William Sawalich will drive the team’s No. 18 Starkey / SoundGear Toyota GR Supra fulltime in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025. Sawalich, who won the 2023 and 2024 ARCA Menards Series East championships driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, will make his Xfinity Series debut this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The 18-year-old Minnesota native has achieved remarkable success over the past two seasons in the ARCA Menards Series. Over the past two seasons, Sawalich has racked up 18 victories in 39 starts across ARCA’s three platforms – national, east, and west. He recently claimed his first NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series pole award at Talladega Superspeedway, one day after his 18th birthday.

Unleashing the Xfinity Series Playoffs’ Round of 8 on Las Vegas
After wrapping up the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs’ Round of 12 last weekend at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course and eliminating four drivers from the postseason – Shane van Gisbergen, Sheldon Creed, Riley Herbst and Parker Kligerman – it’s time to unleash the eight contenders that advanced on Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Ambetter Health 302, this Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. ET on the CW, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, the fourth event of the seven-race Playoffs and the first of the Round of 8.
Heading into this weekend at Las Vegas, JR Motorsport’s driver Justin Allgaier ranks first in the Playoff standings, up +18 points on the Championship 4 Round cutoff. In Allgaier’s tire tracks are Stewart-Haas Racing’s Cole Custer in second, up +11 points on the next round’s cut line, Richard Childress Racing’s Austin Hill in third, up +9 on the cutline and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Chandler Smith is fourth, up eight points on the cutoff.
Taylor Gray Joins Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR Xfinity Series Lineup in 2025
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (October 16, 2024) – Joe Gibbs Racing announced today that Taylor Gray will drive the team’s No. 54 Toyota GR Supra fulltime in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025. Gray, who currently races in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, has competed part-time for the JGR Xfinity Series team this season.
The 19-year-old New Mexico native has enjoyed success at every stage of his young career. This season, Gray has earned a pair of top-five finishes in the Xfinity Series, including an eye-opening third-place result in his debut at Richmond Raceway in March. In the Truck Series, he qualified for the playoffs in his first full season on the strength of seven top-five finishes and 11 top-10s so far. Gray also enjoyed success in the ARCA Menards Series with nine total victories across the series’ three platforms – national, east, and west. (more…)
