35th Annual Tribute To Tommy Druar & Tony Jankowiak For The Race Of Champions Modified Series Canceled Due To Forecasted Inclement Weather

Lancaster, NY – (October 11, 2024) – Lancaster (NY) Motorplex and Race of Champions management have agreed to cancel the 35^th Annual Tribute to Tommy Druar & Tony Jankowiak for the Race of Champions Modified Series at Lancaster for Sunday, October 13.

The Race of Champions Modified Series was set to compete in the event on Sunday, October 13, however a forecast that shows inclement weather over an extended period of time in the Western New York region forced the cancelation of the event.

Sunoco World Series Sunday Up Next For Justin Bonsignore

Three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Justin Bonsignore heads back to a familiar place this Sunday afternoon. Bonsignore and the Kenneth Massa Motorsports team will return to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park to compete in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Sunoco World Series 150. With just three races remaining in the Tour season, Bonsignore sits second, just 11 points out of the lead in the title chase.

Thompson has been one of Bonsignore’s best tracks in his career. Hosting 13 of his 42 career wins, Bonsignore’s last Thompson win came in this event last year. In two starts at Thompson so far in 2024, Bonsignore has finished fourth and second.

Highmark Building Efficiency Sponsorship Drives 8th Annual Islip 300 Winner’s Share To $12,000

In January when revealing the 2024 NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Series schedule for Riverhead Raceway, track owners Connie Partridge and Tom Gatz announced an $3,000 increase for the winner’s share of the 8th annual Islip 300 to $10,000. Monday, track GM John Ellwood disclosed Rich Gerbe of HighMark Building Efficiency has agreed to becoming the title sponsor of the November 16th Tour Type Modified event, driving the winner’s share to $12,000.

Sadler- Stanley Racing to Honor the Hendrick Racing Legacy in SMART Modified Tour Race at South Boston

Sadler-Stanley Racing, co-owned by Virginia attorney and State Senator Bill Stanley, and former NASCAR driver Hermie Sadler, will honor Roy Hendrick and the entire Hendrick family at the next SMART Modified Tour race this weekend.

The team will honor Hendrick by carrying the “Flying 11” number on the entry driven by Jonathan Cash. The Pace-O-Matic machine will compete at South Boston Speedway on Saturday, October 12.

Lancaster N.Y. – (October 7, 2024) – The Race of Champions Modified Series will make its second and final visit of the season to Lancaster (N.Y.) Motorplex this coming Sunday, October 13 for the rescheduled 35th Annual Tribute to Tommy Druar and Tony Jankowiak.

The Race of Champions Modified Series feature will compete in a 110-lap race with the ability to change one tire during the race. It will be the final race of the season, Zane Zeiner of Bath, PA, is seeking his second consecutive Series championship in a competitive season.

Perry, NY – (October 7, 2024) – Joe Evans of Holland, NY, started 9^th, patiently worked his way through the field, took the lead late in the 75-lap feature and went on to win the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series portion of the traditional “Fall Shootout” at Wyoming County International Speedway “The Bullring” in Perry, NY, this past Saturday.

It was Evans first Series victory and it made him the 9^th different winner for the 2024 season.

Matt Hirschman Wins NAPA Fall Final Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series Feature at Stafford

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Motor Speedway welcomed the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series to the track for the $15,000 to win NAPA Fall Final. Matt Hirschman scored a repeat victory in the race as he won the NAPA Fall Final last season and he took home the $15k winner’s check.

The NAPA Fall Final took the green flag with a stackup at the front of the pack as Mikey Flynn didn’t quite come up to speed that saw Ron Silk end his race in the turn 1 wall before a lap could be completed.

The next restart saw the same thing with polesitter Flynn not coming up to speed and he spun to bring the caution flag out before a lap could be put on the board. (more…)
