DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Throughout the week leading into the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship drivers were keeping a wary eye on the weather.
“It’s a lot like Le Mans or Spa in that the weather pops up out of nowhere,” said Ricky Taylor, driver of the Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) class No. 10 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac V-Series.R.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International is the first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race since the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in March to feature all four classes – Grand Touring Prototype (GTP), Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2), Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO), and Grand Touring Daytona (GTD). It’s also the third of five rounds in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup, producing a bumper field of 54 cars.
For GTP, Watkins Glen is already the sixth of nine races, signaling the start of the final stretch of the title fight. LMP2 has run only two of seven events so far this year, so its championship is just getting underway. For GTD PRO and GTD, the Sahlen’s Six Hours marks the halfway point of the season.

The Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division got Midseason Championships underway Saturday with Kiptyn Aldrich and Maddi Potter leading the class to green. Potter quickly took off with the race lead as Gracen Gorham, Owen Dupuis and Lucas Sidney began their climb from the back of the pack. Gorham was quickest to find open air, motoring into the lead by the halfway point and kept his foot to the firewall to beat out Lucas Sidney to the line with Dupuis rounding out the top three.
