(Stafford Springs, CT)—Open Modified cars returned to Stafford Motor Speedway for their fourth and final visit of the 2021 season on Friday, August 20th for the Lincoln Tech Open 80. NASCAR Cup Series driver Ryan Preece charged his way through the field over the final 31 laps after coming out of the pits during a caution period outside the top-10 to win the Lincoln Tech Open Modified 80. Saddled with starting 12th in Saturday night’s Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modified feature didn’t deter John Baker of Brookhaven from racing to his second win of the season on I Love American night at Riverhead Raceway as he won the 50-lap feature event. For Baker who also won on June 12th the victory was the fourth of his career. (more…)
NASCAR almost pulled it off. Another new track configuration prompted by a desire to see better racing at a flagship track that has been losing interest. This time they didn’t bring in tons of dirt or repave a track. This time they used the old road course at Indy and for 78 laps, the race was pretty decent.
Barre, VT — Barre’s Jamie York picked the best time to get his first career Thunder Road victory in the annual Road Warrior Challenge at NorthCountry Federal Credit Union Night on Sunday, August 15. York dominated the 50-lap special for the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors as part of a special Sunday twilight show seen live on FloRacing.

Barre, VT — Craftsbury Common’s Stephen Martin topped one of the closest championship battles in recent Thunder Road history by winning the Myers Container Service Triple Crown Series finale at Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac Night on Thursday, August 5. Martin wrestled the lead away from his dad Michael in the closing stages of the 75-lap Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger feature to win both the race and the Triple Crown title in one fell swoop.
