Saddled with starting 12th in Saturday night’s Buzz Chew Chevrolet NASCAR Modified feature didn’t deter John Baker of Brookhaven from racing to his second win of the season on I Love American night at Riverhead Raceway as he won the 50-lap feature event. Amidst Track Meltdown, AJ Allmendinger Wins Indy’s Road Course Race
NASCAR almost pulled it off. Another new track configuration prompted by a desire to see better racing at a flagship track that has been losing interest. This time they didn’t bring in tons of dirt or repave a track. This time they used the old road course at Indy and for 78 laps, the race was pretty decent.
Jamie York Wins the Road Warrior Challenge at Thunder Road
Barre, VT — Barre’s Jamie York picked the best time to get his first career Thunder Road victory in the annual Road Warrior Challenge at NorthCountry Federal Credit Union Night on Sunday, August 15. York dominated the 50-lap special for the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors as part of a special Sunday twilight show seen live on FloRacing.

Stephen Martin Wins All the Marbles at Triple Crown Finale
Barre, VT — Craftsbury Common’s Stephen Martin topped one of the closest championship battles in recent Thunder Road history by winning the Myers Container Service Triple Crown Series finale at Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac Night on Thursday, August 5. Martin wrestled the lead away from his dad Michael in the closing stages of the 75-lap Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger feature to win both the race and the Triple Crown title in one fell swoop.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Open Modified cars returned to Stafford Motor Speedway for the third of four visits during the 2021 season on Friday, July 30th for the Bud Light Open 80. Chase Dowling took the lead from Ryan Preece on lap-53 and drove away from the field to win the Bud Light 80 and take home contingency bonuses of $1,000 from GAF Roofing, $500 from New England Racing Fuel, and $500 from Rayner Real Estate to push his winner’s check up to $5,500.
