After running out of gas near the end of the race, Denny Hamlin finished 18th. In many ways, he is lucky that is as bad as it got after posting a racial slur meme aimed at Kyle Larson. Hamlin is lucky he hasn’t been suspended from NASCAR the way Larson was for his racial slur during a 2020 virtual racing event. Larson also lost his job at Ganassi Racing for that slur.

Wiscasset Speedway Kicks Off 2022 Season With Group 1 Season Opener
Saturday, April 23rd marked the beginning of the 2022 race season at Wiscasset Speedway and the tenth season of track ownership for Richard and Vanessa Jordan. The sudden closure of another Maine race track at the conclusion of the 2021 season left the local race community saddened, but also opened doors of opportunity for new drivers and teams to explore other race tracks such as Wiscasset.
