Kevin Iannarelli Heads To Riverside Speedway With Momentum On His Side

SHIRLEY, Mass. — Kevin Iannarelli and the iRacing.com team are heading to the next round of the Modified Racing Series (MRS) season with plenty of momentum on their side.

Iannarelli is coming off a strong second-place finish in the last MRS event at Wiscasset Speedway, last Saturday, July 31, and is rolling to Riverside (Groveton) Speedway this Saturday, August 7 looking to advance on that finish by one spot for his first career win.

Prior to the second-place finish at Wiscasset, Iannarelli had finished inside the top-five at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, and has been inching closer to scoring the victory in quite the impressive start to the season. The Shirley, Massachusetts, native, who works as an Associate Producer for iRacing.com, is focusing on the Modified Racing Series this season as he continues to navigate the difficult waters of the Tour-Type Modified ranks in New England.

A strong field of 17 cars showed at Wiscasset last weekend and another solid field in the double-digits is expected for Saturday’s trip to Riverside. The track, nestled deep into the mountains of New Hampshire, is a tight, banked, oval that will produce some of the best Modified racing of the season.

Iannarelli is excited to build on his momentum and hopes to come home to Massachusetts with the trophy in his No. 27.

“Coming off these recent strong runs is a real shot in the arm for our team as a whole,” Iannarelli said. “With the help of Rob Fuller at LFR Chassis and crew chief Danny Gamache, we’ve really started to hit on a setup package that works at the tracks we have been racing at this year. Riverside will be a bit of an unknown for us, since none of us have seen the place. We hope to unload with speed off the trailer and work on it from there.”

Modified Racing Series practice will begin at 3 p.m., with three different short sessions planned for the day. Qualifying heat races begin at 6 p.m., with the Modified Racing Series set to be the third group of cars on the track. The 100-lap feature will follow later in the evening. Tickets will be available at the track for those fans who would like to head to the New Hampshire oval for a full night of racing. The local Dare Devils, Bone Stock 6 & 8, Formula Fours and Bone Stock 4 Cylinders will also be in action.

Iannarelli, who started his career in the Mini Cups, spent a stint down south working with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and JR Motorsports, before moving back to New England and taking a job with iRacing.com, where he is the Associate Producer. Iannarelli is a former winner at Star Speedway, located in Epping, N.H., in their Tour Modified weekly division. With sponsorship from iRacing, Lucas Oil, Access Realty, Lucas Oil, VTANG & others, Iannarelli is running at the front for the 2021 season.
