Nick Yelloly Joins Flying Lizard Motorsport for Indianapolis 8 Hour

PHOENIZ, Ariz., (September 28, 2024) – The season finale for the Fanatec GT World Challenge America concludes next week at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with an eight-hour endurance racing event, and BMW works driver Nick Yelloly will join full-season drivers Elias Sabo and Andy Lee in the No. 8 Flying Lizard Motorsports BMW M4 GT3.

“We are very pleased to have Nick joining us for the Indianapolis 8 Hour event,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “BMW has been very supportive of us with this mid-season move to the M4 GT3 and to have a driver of Nick’s caliber and his knowledge of the car will be extremely helpful for us. We are finishing the final prep for the event and look forward to a successful finish to the 2024 season.”

The British racing driver became a BMW works driver in 2019, and currently holds wins in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, GT World Challenge Europe, European Le Mans Series, Intercontinental GT Challenge, and at the at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. Last weekend, he earned a second-place finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the IMSA WeatherTech Battle on the Bricks six-hour endurance race, racing in the GTP class.

“I am really looking forward to joining Flying Lizard for the Indianapolis 8 Hour race next weekend and working with my teammates to explore their new M4 GT3 together,” said Yellowly. “Having raced in Indianapolis last weekend, I’ll be well in tune with the track, and we can get straight to business come free practice one.”

Following a mid-season manufacturer switch, the drivers and crew of the No. 8 machine have been using the subsequent race weekends to get acquainted with the BMW M3 GT3, learning as much as they can in the practice, qualifying, and race sessions. Next week’s Indianapolis 8 Hour will be the first endurance race as a pair for Sabo and Lee, and provide them with ample opportunity to learn about the car from an endurance perspective while fighting for a strong result.

The race will begin on Saturday, October 5 at 12:15 PM ET at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. General Admission ticket holders will have full paddock access, and fans at home can stream live for free on YouTube.com/GTWorld.
