Isaac Kitzmiller Carries ARCA East Points Lead to Flat Rock Speedway Debut

FLAT ROCK, Mich.: Isaac Kitzmiller continues to impress in his rookie ARCA Menards Series East campaign.

Following back-to-back top-10s at Five Flags (Fla.) Speedway and Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway, the A.L.L. Construction Racing driver, delivered a strong top-five finish in the most recent race at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on May 3, further extending his lead in the championship standings.

With rain washing out practice and qualifying, Kitzmiller started 15th but quickly worked his way through the field despite limited track time due to inclement weather.

Now with three consecutive top-10 finishes to open the 2025 season, Kitzmiller and his team remain focused heading into Saturday night’s Dutch Boy 150 at Flat Rock (Mich.) Speedway.

“I am very proud of our team’s efforts so far this season,” said Kitzmiller. “Every race has presented its own set of challenges, but with the leadership of Doug (Howe, crew chief), we’ve been able to focus on making our car better, while embracing what we can control.”

Flat Rock Speedway, known as the Detroit area’s home for asphalt oval short-track racing, sits just over 20 miles southwest of the Motor City in Ash Township, Michigan. The quarter-mile bullring, which also features a Figure 8 course, is expected to be a fitting stage for Kitzmiller, who has already shown promise on short tracks this season.

The 16-year-old rookie hopes the track’s compact layout will play to his strengths and provide another opportunity to extend his impressive early-season run.

“I’ve never been to Flat Rock before, but I’ve done my homework,” Kitzmiller said. “It looks like the kind of track that suits my driving style, and I’m excited to see what we can do.

“We’ve built some momentum early in the season, and the goal is to keep that going this weekend.”

Now holding the ARCA Menards Series East points lead for the second consecutive race, Kitzmiller, backed by the steady guidance of his leadership team, knows that another strong result Saturday night could tighten his grip on the championship heading into a nearly two-month break before the next race at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway on July 18.

“A good finish this weekend would be huge for us,” Kitzmiller added. “Every race matters when you’re racing for a championship, and if we can keep putting ourselves in position to run up front, we’ll have a great shot at staying on top of the standings.”

For Flat Rock, Kitzmiller and Co. welcome Carter Machinery, promoting the Caterpillar (Cat®) brand as the primary partner aboard his No. 79 Chevrolet SS.

“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to continue working with Carter Machinery and hope to continue to represent them well at Flat Rock Speedway,” said Kitzmiller.

“Their support is amazing, and I hope to deliver another strong performance for them. It means a lot to have them back on board for a fourth consecutive race, and I’m looking forward to building that relationship as we continue through the season.”

The 2025 season continues to follow the upward trajectory that first put Isaac Kitzmiller — the teenage son of ARCA Menards Series driver Jason Kitzmiller — in the spotlight.

He wrapped up a breakout 2024 campaign by earning Rookie of the Year honors in the Grand National Super Series and capturing the INEX Semi-Pro Asphalt Series championship in West Virginia, firmly establishing himself as one of the sport’s rising young talents.

Entering Flat Rock, Kitzmiller sits first in the ARCA Menards Series East championship standings, 11 points ahead of second-place runner Zachary Tinkle with five races remaining.
