Ryan Huff Returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway Seeking Strong ARCA Finish

CONCORD, N.C.: Veteran ARCA Menards Series driver Ryan Huff is set to return to Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway for the first time in three years, aiming for a strong showing in Friday night’s General Tire 150.

The 2025 season hasn’t unfolded as planned for Huff and his family-owned Ryan Huff Motorsports team, but the early challenges have only strengthened their bond as they chase a much-needed positive result.

After a rough start at Daytona, the team rejoined the series at Talladega Superspeedway. Despite showing promising speed in their No. 36 Ford Fusion, mechanical issues during the race spoiled their efforts and left them with a frustrating finish.

Still, encouraged by their pace and hungry for redemption, the team heads to the ultra-fast Charlotte Motor Speedway — the fifth stop on the 2025 ARCA schedule — looking to reset their season and deliver a morale-boosting performance.

“Charlotte’s one of those places that really puts everything to the test — speed, handling, and focus,” said Huff. “It’s been a tough start to the year for us, but this team hasn’t stopped fighting.

“We showed what we’re capable of at Talladega before the mechanical issues, so I’m optimistic we can put together a solid run Friday night and start turning our season around.”

Two years ago at Charlotte, Huff delivered a steady performance, starting and finishing 13th, while gaining valuable seat time at one of the sport’s toughest intermediate tracks. That experience, he believes, will serve him well as he returns this weekend looking for redemption.

“That run at Charlotte a couple of years ago was huge for me. It might not have looked like much on paper, but every lap taught me something,” added Huff.

“It’s one of those tracks where experience matters, and I’m confident that what I learned then is going to help us be better prepared this time around.”

With another stacked entry list for the second consecutive intermediate track on the schedule, Huff has his sights set on earning his seventh career top-10 finish.

He knows, however, that capitalizing on opportunities and managing the balance of his race car will be key to making that goal a reality.

“There are a lot of good cars on the entry list, so we know we’ll have to be on our game from the first lap of practice,” sounded Huff.

“I think if we can stay ahead of adjustments and keep the car balanced through the long runs, we’ll have a real shot at bringing home a top-10. That’s the goal — to execute, stay clean, and take advantage of every opportunity.”

During the offseason, Ryan Huff Motorsports secured a new partnership with Commonwealth Equipment, a leading provider of material processing machinery.

The company will serve as the primary partner of Huff’s No. 36 Ford Fusion for Friday night’s 100-lap General Tire 150 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

In honor of Memorial Day weekend, the team will debut a refreshed livery featuring a patriotic paint scheme, paying tribute to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for the United States.

“I can’t say enough about how important this partnership with Commonwealth Equipment is, especially after the challenges we faced earlier this year,” said Huff. “Everyone in motorsports understands how critical support like this is, and to have a company like Commonwealth Equipment step up and believe in what we’re building at Ryan Huff Motorsports is truly incredible.

“They’re used to moving mountains in their industry, and we’re hoping to move some of our own on the racetrack Friday night at Charlotte.

“We’re confident we can proudly represent Commonwealth Equipment both on and off the track, and we hope this is just the beginning of a growing partnership for the rest of the season.”

Gary Guthrie, president of Commonwealth Equipment, concurs.

“This partnership is a perfect fit,” offered Guthrie. “Ryan’s drive and ambition in both business and racing align with our own core values. Our team is excited to provide the high-performance equipment his company needs to thrive while also supporting his passion for racing. It’s more than just business — it’s about fueling success and having some fun along the way.

“While Commonwealth Equipment is focused on supporting Ryan’s growing wood processing needs, the partnership extends beyond the business realm. Commonwealth Equipment proudly supports Ryan’s racing endeavors.

“This partnership is a natural extension of Commonwealth’s commitment to high performance, speed, and precision, values that align seamlessly with Ryan’s approach both in the environmental industry and on the race track.”
