Two Nights of Short Track Racing June 27–28 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway

Nashville Fairground Speedway

Nashville, TN – One of the most anticipated weekends of the summer is here as Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway hosts a two-day racing doubleheader, Friday and Saturday, June 27-28, with action on both the 1/4-mile and 5/8-mile ovals.

Friday, June 27 features the return of Friday Night Lights, a full night of racing on the 1/4-mile with Limited Late Models, Pure Stocks, Legends, Bandoleros, and Front Runners. The event also includes 5/8-mile practice for Pro Late Model teams, giving fans a preview of Saturday’s big show. The event was added to the schedule in hopes of completing some ¼-mile racing which has had a couple of weather cancellations this season.

On Saturday, June 28, the high-banked 5/8-mile roars to life with the return of the Pro Late Models, Super Trucks, and Street Stocks. The 1/4-mile classes—Limited Late Models, Pure Stocks, Legends, Bandoleros, and Front Runners—are also back for their second night of racing, making for a can’t-miss night of competition.

To make things even more exciting, Nashville Equipment is sponsoring a $1,000 bonus for the Pure Stock driver with the best average finish over both nights. Second and third place in overall results will receive $350 and $150 respectively.

 POINTS BATTLES HEATING UP

In the Pro Late Model division, Lebanon, TN’s Hunter Wright holds the points lead after three events, with a 7-point advantage over Chase Johnson. Wright, Johnson, and Trey Craig have each earned a feature win so far this season, setting the stage for an exciting mid-season showdown on Saturday.

The Street Stock division has also seen fierce competition, with Dillon Oliver holding a slim 4-point lead over Blaine Akin. Oliver won the division’s opening race, while Chuck Barnes Jr. claimed the most recent feature in a CRA-sanctioned event.

For the five ¼-mile divisions, the point battles will begin this weekend, as it will be their first official point nights of the season.
