STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 28, 2025 – NBC Sports presents the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Championship from Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Ariz., this Sunday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock with a special edition of Countdown to Green beginning at 2 p.m. ET. Below are the Championship 4 drivers vying for the Cup Series title:
William Byron won the Martinsville Cup race with Ryan Preece coming in sixth. Joey Logano of Middletown, CT finished eighth.
Taylor Gray won the Xfinity event while Justin Bonsignore of Long Island, NY came in tenth. Anthony Alfredo of Ridgewood, CT ended up 16th. Not so lucky was Thomas Annunziata, who ended up 38th.
In the Trucks, it was Corey Heim who made the trip to Victory Lane, while Gio Ruggerio of Seekonk, MA ended up 11th
NASCAR Cup Series teams will run a familiar Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setup at this weekend’s Championship Race, though it will mark the first time these tires have run at Phoenix Raceway.
After racing the prime and option tire setups at Phoenix in March, the Cup Series returns to a single tire specification for the season finale on the 1-mile dogleg oval. This tire setup has previously been used at several short tracks this year, most recently at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in September. The right-side tire also ran last weekend at Martinsville Speedway, paired with a new left-side tire.

MARTINSVILLE, Va.—With a heroic, gloves-off drive on Sunday in the crucible that is Martinsville Speedway, William Byron earned a shot at the NASCAR Cup Series title and simultaneously saved the rest of the Championship 4 field from its worst nightmare.
Byron led three times for 304 laps—a career best for a single race—and beat Ryan Blaney to the finish line by 0.717 seconds after a restart with 11 laps left to win the Xfinity 500 elimination race under most exigent circumstances.
A pair of Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas and a pair of Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolets will vie for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series championship next Sunday at Phoenix Raceway – the four-team title card settled in Sunday’s Xfinity 500 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway which certainly delivered the drama – again – in deciding which four drivers earned the chance to race for the big trophy.
For years, those following the careers of Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell have anticipated a head-to-head matchup between the two drivers—on asphalt.
With two berths in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship 4 Race on the line, it’s a given that the two stars will pay close attention to each other in Sunday’s high-stakes Xfinity 500 (2 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (October 23, 2025) – NASCAR Cup Series driver Zane Smith has signed a multi-year extension with Front Row Motorsports (FRM) to drive the No. 38 Ford Mustang Dark Horse
The 26-year-old Huntington Beach, Calif. native is finishing up his second season as a full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver, having earned three top-five and ten top-10 career finishes and one career pole. Smith’s first full-time season in 2024 was aboard the No. 71 car for Spire Motorsports, before he returned to FRM to drive the No. 38 Ford this season under the direction of Crew Chief Ryan Bergenty.
STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 22, 2025 – Only one race left to determine the final two drivers in the Championship 4! The NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs continue on NBC and Peacock with the final race of the Round of 8 – and penultimate race of the season – with the Xfinity 500 from Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, Va., this Sunday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
