How Did The Northeast Drivers Fare At Martinsville?
William Byron won the Martinsville Cup race with Ryan Preece coming in sixth. Joey Logano of Middletown, CT finished eighth.
Taylor Gray won the Xfinity event while Justin Bonsignore of Long Island, NY came in tenth. Anthony Alfredo of Ridgewood, CT ended up 16th. Not so lucky was Thomas Annunziata, who ended up 38th.
In the Trucks, it was Corey Heim who made the trip to Victory Lane, while Gio Ruggerio of Seekonk, MA ended up 11th
Stefan Parsons to Pilot Spire Motorsports No. 7 Chevy Silverado at Phoenix Raceway
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (October 27, 2025) –Stefan Parsons will pilot Spire Motorsports No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series season finale at Phoenix Raceway where Transportation Charter Services (TCS) will be showcased as the team’s primary sponsor.
The Cornelius, N.C., native is the son of former NASCAR Cup Series star and current FOX Sports broadcaster Phil Parsons and the nephew of the late Benny Parsons, the 1973 Cup Series champion. Stefan Parsons competes part-time in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series.
Goodyear Racing Notes – Phoenix Raceway
NASCAR Cup Series teams will run a familiar Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setup at this weekend’s Championship Race, though it will mark the first time these tires have run at Phoenix Raceway.
After racing the prime and option tire setups at Phoenix in March, the Cup Series returns to a single tire specification for the season finale on the 1-mile dogleg oval. This tire setup has previously been used at several short tracks this year, most recently at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in September. The right-side tire also ran last weekend at Martinsville Speedway, paired with a new left-side tire.
William Byron Makes Championship Field With 11th-Hour Win At Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va.—With a heroic, gloves-off drive on Sunday in the crucible that is Martinsville Speedway, William Byron earned a shot at the NASCAR Cup Series title and simultaneously saved the rest of the Championship 4 field from its worst nightmare.
Byron led three times for 304 laps—a career best for a single race—and beat Ryan Blaney to the finish line by 0.717 seconds after a restart with 11 laps left to win the Xfinity 500 elimination race under most exigent circumstances.

Sam Hunt Racing Expands; Thompson and Burton Named Full-Time Drivers for 2026 Season
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (October 25,2025) – Sam Hunt Racing (SHR) announces today that the organization will expand to two full-time entries in 2026, both with full-time drivers. Dean Thompson, who broke multiple organizational records in his rookie NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) Season, will return to the No. 26 GR Supra. Harrison Burton, a NASCAR Cup Series winner and 2025 NXS playoff driver, will pilot the No. 24 GR Supra full-time.
NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour To Visit Riverhead Raceway Twice In 2026 With Events May 30th And September 19th
Prior to the 2025 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour finale Thursday at the historic Martinsville Speedway, WMT officials revealed a 16-race 2026 schedule that will take the touring racers from Florida to Maine. Riverhead Raceway owners Connie Partridge and Tom Gatz are proud and excited to again host two events in 2026 with the Miller Lite Salute to Don Howe Saturday May 30th along with the Eddie Partridge 256 Saturday September 19th. The two races mark the 78th and 79th appearances of the WMT since 1985.

Thompson, CT — The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) announced Thursday afternoon the 2026 Whelen Modified Tour schedule ahead of the 2025 championship event at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia. Included in the sixteen race schedule will be three events contested on the 0.625-mile Thompson Speedway here in Connecticut including the all-important finale in the heart of Modified country.
