Six Different Winners Highlight Race Of Champions Modified Series Heading Toward Race Of Champions Weekend & The VP Racing Fuels Race Of Champions 250

North East, Pa. – (September 9, 2024) – The Race of Champions Modified Series has had one of it’s most competitive seasons in history. Six different drivers have won races and 62 different driver’s have earned points as the Series heads into the biggest event of the season, the VP Racing Fuels 250 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, PA.

Matt Hirschman of Northampton, PA; Jack Ely of Northampton, PA; Austin Kochenash of Danielsville, PA; Jake Lutz of Hamburg, NY; Ron Silk of Norwalk, CT; and Zane Zeiner of Bath, PA, who is the current series championship leader have all earned victories this season. Only Hirschman and Zeiner have visited victory lane multiple times. Hirschman’s victories came at Evans Mills (NY) Speedway and Mahoning Valley Speedway in Lehighton, PA, while Zeiner has swept the races at Chemung (NY) Speedrome.

Joey Logano of Middletown, CT  won the Cup race with Corey LaJoie  coming in 15th and Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT finishing 18th.  Corey LaJoie is the son of Two-Time Xfinity Champion Randy LaJoie whose hometown is Norwalk, CT.
Austin Hill crossed the finish line of the Xfinity race first with Parker Kligerman of Westport, CT finishing up second.  Kyle Weatherman took the 11th place with Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT taking 14th and Blaine Perkins coming in  19th.  Weatherman and Perkins both drive team cars for father and daughter of Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Hour of Chatham, MA.

Harrison Burton won the Cup race at Daytona while Joey Logano of Middletown, CT ended his night in 31st.  Also  Corey LaJoie did even worse with a 34th position and Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT ended up 39th going out early in that race.  LaJoie is the son of two-time Xfinity Champion Randy LaJoie who grew up in Norwalk, CT before moving to the Charlotte, NC area.

Shane Van Gisbergen won the Xfinity race at Sonoma, Parker Kligerman of Westport, CT took tenth place, Blaine Perkins came in 18th, Kyle Weatherman ended up 30th and Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT ended up 31st.  Perkins and Weatherman both drive team cars for Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Our who get their sleep during the week in Harwich, MA.
Will Power won the Indy Car race at Road America while Santo Ferrucci of Woodbury CT took 15th place.
