Harrison Burton won the Cup race at Daytona while Joey Logano of Middletown, CT ended his night in 31st. Also Corey LaJoie did even worse with a 34th position and Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT ended up 39th going out early in that race. LaJoie is the son of two-time Xfinity Champion Randy LaJoie who grew up in Norwalk, CT before moving to the Charlotte, NC area.
Ryan Truex won the Xfinity race the night prior while Parker Kligerman of Weston, CT came in third. Kyle Weatherman was credited with tenth place, Blair Perkins got 14th while Long Island’s Patrick Emerling was awarded 18th. Perkins and Weatherman were in team cars owned by Cape Cod’s Chris Our and his wife Mary. Both reside in Harwich, MA.
On the west coast the Indy Cars got the attention of those fans at the Portland, OR Road Course where Will Power captured another one while Santino Ferrucci of Woodbury, CT posted an eighth place.
