OWSSO, Mich.: Over the last month, life has been good for Kyle Steckly and the Rette Jones Racing team.

In the ASA STARS National Tour’s most recent race at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway, the pair of Steckly and Rette Jones Racing were able to take a mediocre rookie season and explode with a bombshell victory in the Redbud 400 at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway.

RCR Race Preview: Daytona International Speedway

Richard Childress Racing has collected seven points-paying victories in NASCAR Cup Series competition at Daytona International Speedway. RCR owns three Daytona 500 wins (Dale Earnhardt – 1998, Kevin Harvick – 2007, Austin Dillon – 2018) and four Coke Zero Sugar 400 trophies (Earnhardt – 1990, 1993, Harvick – 2010, Dillon – 2022).

RCR has won 11 pole positions at Daytona dating back to Ricky Rudd capturing the top starting spot for the 1983 Daytona 500. Other RCR drivers to win pole at Daytona include Dale Earnhardt (1994, 1995 and 1996-500), Mike Skinner (both races in 1997 plus 1998-500), Harvick (2002), Jeff Green (2003-500), Jeff Burton (2006-500), and Dillon (2014-500).

(Stafford Springs, CT)—For any driver, a first victory is a special occurrence and the Friday, August 16 Lincoln Tech 80 program at Stafford Speedway welcomed two new winners, Steven Chapman and the #14 Chapman Apartment Homes team in the SK Modified® division, and Amanda West and the #15 McKinney Construction team in the SK Light division.  New winners have been a theme at Stafford in 2024 with Chapman and West becoming the 8th and 9th different first-time winners during the 2024 season.  Chapman’s win was his third overall career win at Stafford but first in the SK Modified® division, while West’s victory was a first in any division at Stafford.

All eyes will be on the Daytona International Speedway as the iconic hallowed grounds will play host to the NASCAR Cup Series penultimate race of regular season, the Coke Zero Sugar 400, this Saturday, August 24 at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Channel 90). The World Center of Racing is currently riding a streak of seven different Cup Series winners dating back to 2021 – Michael McDowell (Feb. 2021), Ryan Blaney (Aug. 2021), Austin Cindric (Feb. 2022), Austin Dillon (Aug. 2022), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (Feb. 2023), Chris Buescher (Aug. 2023), William Byron (Feb. 2024) – making the unpredictability of this event that much more intriguing.

Daytona International Speedway, the 2.5-mile paved superspeedway oval located in Daytona Beach, Florida, has hosted 154 NASCAR Cup Series races since the inaugural event in 1959 – 66 have been 500 miles, 61 were 400 miles and four were 250 miles. There were also 23 qualifier races that were point races. But this weekend marks just the first time the summer race will be the NASCAR Cup Series penultimate race in the regular season. Daytona served as regular season finale from 2020-2023.

GRAF JR. 2024 NXS 2nd Race of Season: The August 23rd race at the Daytona International  Speedway will mark Joe Graf Jr.’s 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) 2nd race thus far in the season. Graf Jr. has a total of 9 previous starts at Daytona and scored a top 10 finish in 2023.  Graf Jr. will be back at the World Center of Racing this weekend piloting the No. 19 JGR Toyota GR Supra for the first time this year on the two-and-a-half-mile oval course.

RETURN TO JGR: Graf Jr. competed in the full, 33 race NXS season in 2023 where he had three impressive top-10 performances at Daytona, Homestead, and Kansas, highlighted by a best finish of seventh at Daytona.  (more…)
