How New England Connections Performed at Daytona This Past Weekend

The NASCAR Xfinity race started off on Friday night at Daytona International only to get rained out after just a few laps.  NASCAR rescheduled the event to Saturday afternoon at 12:30 pm.

When it was all over Justin Healy ended up the winner.  Cape Cod Constuction Developer Chris Our had two drivers in the field.  They were Brett Moffitt who finished 11th and Blaine Perkins who placed 23rd.  Team owner Our resides in Harwich, MA.
In Saturday night’s NASCAR Cup race at Daytona Ryan Blaney came home the winner while Berlin, CT’s Ryan Preece finished fourth Corey LaJoie finished 16th.  LaJoie is the son of two-time Xfinity Champion Randy LaJoie from Norwalk, CT.  Middletown, CT’s Joey Logano placed 23rd while Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT was 26th.   Kaz Grala of Boston, MA went out early due to an accident and was 35th.
Santino Ferrucci of Woodbury, CT has been among the missing in both the Indy Car and NASCAR Xfinity scenes as of late.  We did see an AP piece though on August 19 that told of him confirmed to race in an Indy Car Twin event in Iowa in 2022.
