New ‘Driver of the Race’ Contingency Award Announced for ACT Teams

Barre, VT — American-Canadian Tour officials today released an all-new Contingency Award available for the ACT teams throughout the 2023 season. The new ACT Driver of the Race program will award one (1) Hoosier Race Tire to the driver that officials deem the most deserving among the roster each race through the end of the 2023 season courtesy of WB Tire.

Along with the announcement, officials have determined that Rochester, New Hampshire’s Cam Huntress will receive the first Driver of the Race award after his stellar performance at Lee USA Speedway on May 21st. After cutting his racing teeth at ‘New Hampshire’s Center of Speed,’ the sophomore racer earned his first career top-10 in ACT competition by taking sixth-place at his hometrack less than two weeks ago.

“We came up with this award with guys like Cam in mind,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “It’s just him and his dad each race and they’ve made steady gains since joining the Tour last year. Lee was a career race for them and we look forward to watching the Huntress team continue to improve.”

The American-Canadian Tour returns to action at Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Massachusetts for the 48th Spring Green 123 on Saturday, June 3rd. One of Tour’s most iconic events gets its first try at ‘The Action Track of the East’ with the ACT stars going head-to-head with the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Late Models in a classic early-summer battle! The Spring Green 123 also serves as Round #2 of the Brookside Equipment Sales Southern New England Triple Crown. The Seekonk Pro Stocks will also be in action for the Scully Memorial 55 plus the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman and the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks. Post Time is set for 6:00pm.
