PHOENIX, Ariz., (March 21, 2025) – With the start of the 2025 SRO America season rapidly approaching, Flying Lizard Motorsports has announced the return of Elias Sabo and Andy Lee to the 2025 Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, continuing their pursuit of success in the No. 8 5.11 Tactical BMW M4 GT3. The duo will once again take on the competitive Pro-Am class, building on their strong performances from the previous seasons. Sabo has also added a second car to the program this season and will compete in the No. 80 5.11 Tactical BMW M4 GT3 in the GT America series.
“Last season presented some challenges, but Elias and Andy gained a lot of experience and have a solid foundation to build on for the upcoming season,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “Adding a second car will give Elias the opportunity to not only race for a separate championship, but this will be invaluable for him as far as getting seat time in the BMW. We have spent a lot of time testing over the winter and are ready to get the 2025 season underway.”
Sabo and Lee, both seasoned competitors, return to the series with valuable experience in GT3 machinery, having made strides in their performance with each season. They first joined Flying Lizard for the 2022 race season, competing in GT4 machinery before stepping up to GT3 racing in 2024. The switch to the BMW M4 GT3 has been a key step in their evolution, offering a competitive package well-suited for the competitive, multi-class battles in the series.
“I’m very excited for the 2025 season,” said Sabo. “Last year, Andy and I learned a lot in our inaugural GT3 campaign. We have been preparing in the offseason and are ready for the season opener next week.”
Lee, an experienced sports car racer, and longtime coach and co-driver of Sabo echoed the excitement, adding, “Coming off of a challenging season in 2024 Elias and I heavily focused on improving our weak areas. Taking the step up from GT4 to GT3 was anything but smooth for us but we learned a lot from it and we’re feeling far more prepared for this season. We can’t wait for the season to start next week!”
The 2025 GT World Challenge America season will feature events at some of North America’s most iconic circuits, with Sabo and Lee set to showcase the 5.11-liveried BMW M4 GT3 against a stacked field of competitors.
Flying Lizard Motorsports, a staple in sports car racing for over two decades, continues to be a force in GT competition, leveraging its experience and championship pedigree to support its continuing driver lineup. The 2025 season kicks off at Sonoma Raceway on March 28, with the team eager to begin its campaign for the new season ahead.
