Friday Night May 2nd Thunder to Kick Off Massive Racing Weekend at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway

NASHVILLE, TN — The engines will roar and the grandstands will rumble as the 2025 season kicks into high gear next week with a Friday night quarter-mile special at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, launching an electrifying doubleheader weekend of racing on May 2-3.

The action starts Friday night, May 2 at 6:30 PM, with a full card of grassroots racing that brings together fan favorites and rising stars. Divisions hitting the track include the CP Race Wear Bandoleros, Pure Stocks, US Air Force Legends, Pest Doctor Front Runners, and Paschall Heating & Air Limited Late Models — all battling for early points in their first official 2025 championship night.

Gates open to fans at 5:00 PM, with qualifying set for 5:30, just before the green flag waves at 6:30 PM for feature racing under the lights.

The evening serves as the first half of a can’t-miss two-night racing spectacular. While the quarter-mile takes the spotlight on Friday, Super Late Model practice begins at 3:00 PM, giving fans a sneak peek of Saturday’s horsepower showcase.

Fans can expect to see several returning champions defending their turf, including:

  • Johnathan Dishman (Limited Late Models)
  • Ray Gann (Front Runners)
  • John Bradley (Pure Stocks)
  • Kevin Rollins, Michael Crafton, and Max Olmsted II (Legends)
  • Landon Thrasher (Bandoleros) (Also ran Legends at Spring Nationals)

Each driver will be looking to start their 2025 campaign with a trip to Victory Lane in front of the hometown crowd.

The action doesn’t stop there — the Saturday, May 3rd showcase features the ARCA Menards Series East in the Music City 150, the North-South Super Late Model Challenge 100 with the ASA Southern Super Series and CRA, plus the Nashville Pro Late Models in a thrilling 100-lap showdown on the high-banked 5/8-mile oval. Saturday’s green flag drops at 5:00 PM.
