Grandview Speedway Hosts Two-Day Race Weekend, High Limit 410 Sprints Are May 19

Grandview SpeedwayBECHTELSVILLE, PA. – Following another wildly exciting and competitive night of racing last Saturday, Grandview Speedway is ready to present the first two-day race weekend of the new season.

The weekend of racing at Grandview Speedway will begin on Friday, April 17, as the Outlaw Racing Series Enduro and Vintage cars will be in action joined by the Keystone Sport Compact Series Four Cylinders and the Xcel 600 Modifieds starting at 7 pm. Pit gates will be opening at 2 pm, and grandstand gates open at 5 pm. Grandstand admission is $10, children ages 12 and under are admitted free, while pit admission is $35.

Then the following evening on Saturday, April 18, it will be a two-division program of racing under the NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts banner for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds and the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman. Each division will run qualifying races leading to the 30-lap Modified and 25-lap Sportsman main events.

Race time on Saturday night is 6 pm. Pit gates open at 3 pm, grandstand gates open at 4 pm, followed by warm-ups at 5 pm.

Grandstand admission for adults is $20, students 10-15 with ID are $10, while children ages 9 and under are admitted free. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members, and $45 for non-members.

Last Saturday was another successful night of entertaining racing action with an outstanding field of 51 – T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds in action, with Jared Umbenhauer working hard to pick up his eighth career NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts feature event win.

It was a great comeback week for Umbenhauer with Saturday’s win after not making the Opening Night starting grid, as he has quickly vaulted into the top fifteen in the championship points race.

Following another solid outing with a third place feature run, Eddie Strada now finds himself as the new point leader in the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modified division, with Louden Reimert, who won the opener picking up a tenth place feature run, to now sit second in the point standings.

Jeff Strunk just missed a top ten finish, but maintains third in points, while Alex Yankowski scored a seventh place feature run to sit fourth in points, with Tim Buckwalter scoring a sixth place feature finish to now sit fifth in the point race.

The top fifteen in T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modified points are 1. Eddie Strada – 579, 2. Louden Reimert – 527, 3. Jeff Strunk – 490, 4. Alex Yankowski – 487, 5. Tim Buckwalter – 479, 6. In the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman division last Saturday, Bryce Bashore who has never been a regular competitor at Grandview, but visits when he can, was making just his eighth career start at the track, and put on a brilliant driving display, driving from tenth starting spot to his first career Grandview Speedway NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts feature event win.

Defending Champion Colin Cox made a late race charge to score a fifth place feature finish and has now taken the top spot in the point standings, while Addison Meitzler just missed a top ten finish, but moved into position two in the point race.

Adrianna Delliponti scored a tenth place feature run and moved to third in points, while Joe Toth missed a top ten feature run but now sits fourth in points, while rookie Matthew Laubach also missed a top ten feature run but has advanced to position five in the point standings.

On Saturday, April 25 it will be another two-division program under the NASCAR Local Racing Series Powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts banner, as the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds and T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman will be competing in a program that will consist of qualifying races leading up to the 30-lap Modified and 25-lap Sportsman main events.

The second special event of the season for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds will be just around the corner on Saturday, May 9, with the presentation of Twin 25-lap features! The show will include the usual slate of qualifying plus a full show for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman.

Anticipation is starting to build for another exciting event coming to Grandview Speedway in the month of May, as the Kyle Larson/Brad Sweet Interstate Batteries High Limit 410 Sprint Car Series will be in town on Tuesday, May 19 starting at 7:30 pm with a rain date of Wednesday, May 20.

On Tuesday, May 19, gates will open at 4:30 pm for Advance ticket holders, with general admission tickets going on sale at 5 pm at the main entrance.   Following opening ceremonies, heat race qualifying will take the green flag at 7:35 pm.
