Max Lanza Conquers Vallelunga In NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Event

Campagnano di Roma, Italy – Max Lanza delivered a brilliant performance at Vallelunga, the second round of the NASCAR Euro Series. The Roman driver went above and beyond in his home race, claiming victory in Race 1 and finishing second in Race 2 in the highly competitive Challenger Trophy. These strong results launch Lanza into second place in the standings, just six points behind the leader of the special Trophy. More good news came for the #88 Camaro in the revamped Open Division, where Roberto Benedetti secured two podium finishes in front of the home crowd.

Penalty Report: Whelen Modified Tour Driver Stephen Kopcik Suspended One Race

On Wednesday, NASCAR announced the following penalties have been issued coming out of the event at North Wilkesboro Speedway:

NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour driver Stephen Kopcik has been suspended for one race and fined $1,500. He will be suspended from NASCAR until the fine is paid and is on probation until December 31, 2025.

Despite being in contention for the ARCA Menards Series championship lead, veteran driver Jason Kitzmiller will skip Friday night’s General Tire 150 at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway to attend his daughter’s high school graduation.

Addison Kitzmiller will graduate on May 23, 2025, from Petersburg High School, earning the school’s highest academic honor as valedictorian.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour kicked off the final day of NASCAR All-Star Weekend at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Sunday afternoon with 150 laps of racing at the historic oval. A race filled with attrition ended with Craig Lutz in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victory lane for the fifth time in his career.

Why So Many Yellows in the Modified’s North Wilkesboro Race?

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race at North Wilkesboro saw many cautions, and drivers shared their disappointment and theories as to why.
The race was held on Sunday afternoon, just before the NASCAR Cup Series hosted their All-Star Race, leading to a big crowd on hand, and the drivers knew the importance of the race. Two of the cautions were due to engine failures. Conner Jones also had an engine failure in practice, preventing him from racing. The longest green flag during the race was only 17 laps, and the average race speed was only 55.056 miles per hour.
