Flying Lizard Prepared to Close out Multi-Series SRO America Season at Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., (September 30, 2024) – Two weeks after racing at the Brickyard with their Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America program, Flying Lizard Motorsport is back at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend to close out the year with their multiple SRO America championship efforts. Though not in the championship hunt, the team has four entries competing to finish the season with wins in GT World Challenge America, GT4 America, and GT America.

“2024 has been a great season for many reasons,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “Although we aren’t in a fight for the championship this year, we have had multiple podiums throughout the season in each of the different classes we are entered in and we see so much potential for 2025. Indianapolis has always been a great track for us. We are already in the process of preparing for 2025, and we are looking forward to closing out the season on a high note.” (more…)

Wright Motorsports Welcomes Laurin Heinrich for Championship Showdown at Indianapolis 8 Hour

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., (September 27, 2024) – Last weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Wright Motorsports celebrated an impressive win in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Battle on the Bricks, the first Indianapolis-based endurance race for the series. This weekend, drivers Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer prepare to conclude the fight for the Fanatec GT World Challenge championship title, with Laurin Heinrich joining them in the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R for the Indianapolis 8 Hour. Nick Yelloly Joins Flying Lizard Motorsport for Indianapolis 8 Hour

PHOENIZ, Ariz., (September 28, 2024) – The season finale for the Fanatec GT World Challenge America concludes next week at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with an eight-hour endurance racing event, and BMW works driver Nick Yelloly will join full-season drivers Elias Sabo and Andy Lee in the No. 8 Flying Lizard Motorsports BMW M4 GT3.

“We are very pleased to have Nick joining us for the Indianapolis 8 Hour event,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “BMW has been very supportive of us with this mid-season move to the M4 GT3 and to have a driver of Nick’s caliber and his knowledge of the car will be extremely helpful for us. BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 teams Regulator Racing and CRP Racing combined for victories in three of the four Fanatec GT World Challenge America and GT America races contested this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park. Jeff Burton and Philip Ellis co-drove the No. 91 Regulator Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 to their second Fanatec GT World Challenge America Pro-Am class race win Sunday to tighten the championship race between the top three contenders heading into next month’s season-ending race weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Lizards Return to Alabama for Barber Double Header

BIRMINGHAM, AL., (September 4, 2024) – Momentum is on the side of Flying Lizard Motorsports as the multi-effort racing team heads to Barber Motorsports Park after an eight-year SRO America absence from the scenic circuit. The Phoenix, Arizona-based team has enjoyed back-to-back podium weekends across their GT America, GT4 America, and GT World Challenge America and journeys to Birmingham, Alabama for another weekend filled with sports car racing.

Flying Lizard has had successes at the circuit before, including a 2015 victory with 24 Hours of Le Mans Winner and FIA World Endurance Championship champion Kevin Estre.

We are getting close to the end of the 2024 season and are looking forward to a return to the Barber Motorsports track. This is a tricky circuit because there are not many straightaways, most corners are tight and put a lot of load on the front of the car. We have had success here in the past and always like coming to this beautiful facility. (more…)

Wright Motorsports Prepared for Battle at Barber

BIRMINGHAM, AL., (September 3, 2024) — Eight years have passed since SRO America last held an event at Barber Motorsports Park and this weekend, the Fanatec GT World Challenge America returns to Birmingham, Alabama for the penultimate event of the 2024 season. The competition will intensify at the picturesque circuit as Wright Motorsports aims to keep a tight grasp on the PRO-class championship point lead with the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R.

“It’s great to be returning back to Barber,” said Team Owner John Wright. “Not only is the facility beautiful, but it offers some great racing as well. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly everyone gets up to speed at a track we haven’t raced at in some years. We’ve had decent success here in the past.
