Tommy Adams Redeems Himself with Seekonk Speedway Late Model Win

SEEKONK, Mass. — As he did on Opening Day at Seekonk Speedway, Tommy Adams led the first 29 laps of the Everett’s Auto Parts (Broc kton) Late Models race. But, unlike race one, Adams also led the final lap, to claim his maiden victory of the 2021 season.

Adams nearly went wire-to-wire last week before falling back to 16th after a last-lap tussle with eventual winner Vinny Arrenegado. Luckily for the Sterling, CT driver, he stretched out a comfortable lead on Saturday evening and avoided any pitfalls to pick up his first win of the season.Adams began Saturday’s race on the outside of the first row, with Chase Belcher leading the 17-car field to the green flag.  It took Adams less than a lap to claim the lead, a position that he would never relinquish. Lap three brought a halt to proceedings, with multiple vehicles swapping paint on the straightaway, resulting in a caution as Nathan Tracey, Kevin Bowe, Gerry DeGasparre Jr., Nick Uhrig, Jacob Burns, and Paul Lallier were all involved. Tracey and Bowe took the brunt of the damage, with both making a quick exit after just two laps, while all others involved were able to continue the race.

That proved to be the only yellow flag in the Late Model race, thanks to some great driving from Bobby Tripp, Joshua Hedges, and Arrenegado later in the contest. Tripp and Hedges made contact in a battle for third place on lap 12, and the trio of cars left marks on each other while going three-wide on Lap 16 as they tried to chase down Adams and Charlie Rose at the front. Rose started seventh and made his way up to second in just 10 laps, but seemingly needed a couple more laps to take a run at Adams before the checkered flag came out.

Rose, Arrenegado, Hedges, and Belcher rounded out the top five, with Tripp, DeGasparre Jr., Jeramee Lillie, Ryan Flood, and Mark Hudson claiming positions six through ten.

The Everett’s Auto Parts Late Models return to action on Military Night on Saturday, May 15, with a 30-lap feature as part of the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. Due to limited capacity restrictions, advanced tickets will be on sale at
