SEEKONK, Mass. — Tri Track Open Modified Series teams are just one week away from invading Seekonk Speedway on Saturday, October 23 for the annual Haunted Hundred. The 100-lap, $6,000 to win Tri Track race will be the finale of the 2021 season for teams after five successful races across three states so far.

Some of the top names in Modified racing will be heading to Seekonk looking to capture the big check in the special event. The series will be joined by the Pro All Star Series Pro Stocks and American-Canadian Tour Late Models in a can’t miss event. All the action begins at 1 p.m., with tickets available in advance at seekonktickets.net and at the track on race day.
Leading the list of talent is Matt Hirschman, who leads the point standings heading into the finale by 27 over Chase Dowling. Both of those drivers will look to add to their win totals this season — as Hirschman has two wins already in his resume — including the $10,000 to win Open Wheel Wednesday at Seekonk in August. On top of that, since the last race, Hirschman and his family also welcomed their second daughter, Violet, into the world.
Dowling won at Monadnock Speedway in August, and also will be crowned as the winner of the Call 811 Before You Dig Modified Challenge, worth $8,111 at Seekonk. Dowling bested his competitors in the 10-race series that combined Stafford Motor Speedway’s four Open Modified races with the six Tri Track events this season. The award ceremony will take place just prior to heat races.
Two NASCAR Modified champions — Justin Bonsignore and Doug Coby — also headline the list of entries. Bonsignore is now a three-time champion, and will enter Seekonk fresh off collecting his third NASCAR title, while Coby, a six-time NASCAR champion and the winner of the debut race for the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX), is no stranger to Tri Track victory lane at Seekonk. Coby has three victories in the historic Open Wheel Wednesday, and will look to add the Haunted Hundred to his already impressive resume. Bonsignore will drive for Jimmy Paige in the No. 00, while Coby will wheel the Mayhew Tools No. 10 for his own team.
Ron Silk, who enters third in the Tri Track point standings, will be joined by Les Hinckley, Ronnie Williams, Matt Swanson, Woody Pitkat, Chris Pasteryak, Anthony Nocella and more. Buddy Charette, fresh off a second-place finish in the return of the Thompson 300 last weekend, has also filed his entry for Seekonk, along with many others. There will be a local flavor in the field with names like Angelo Belsito, Rob Murphy and Colbey Fournier, all weekly winners at Seekonk, expected to compete.
Teams that are planning to compete at Seekonk must pre-order tires with Hoosier Tire East by calling 860-646-9646. Teams can purchase nine competition tires, which includes four for practice, four for qualifying and one to change during the race. Practice tires will also be available at the track on Friday as part of a practice day. All tires purchased on Friday can not be used in Saturday race competition.
An optional Friday practice will take place on Friday, October 22, from 12-5 p.m. Pit gates will open at 10 a.m. for teams and overnight hauler parking will be allowed. Camping is not allowed at Seekonk Speedway. On Saturday, pits open at 8 a.m., grandstands open at 11 a.m., and the drop of the green flag for heat racing begins at 1 p.m.
Race day tickets are available in advance at seekonktickets.net or will also be available at the track on the day of the race. Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for kids ages 6-12, with those five and under free in the grandstands.
