How Did New England Connected Drivers Do At Phoenix?

Ty Gibbs not only won the final Xfinity race at Phoenix, he won the Series Championship as well.

From reports at trackside there were some unhappy fans who booed Gibbs that were unhappy with his conduct on Saturday when he took out his teammate in the process of taking the checkered flag.  Jeb Burton finished 16th, Boston’s Kaz Grala came in 23rd while Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT ended his driving efforts in 35th place.  Both Burton and Alfredo drive team cars for Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Our who reside in Harwich, MA.
Middletown, CT’s Joey Logano won his second NASCAR Cup Championship on Sunday aftenoon. Starting from the pole position he earned on Saturday, Logano ran what was considered to be a perfect race.  Corey LaJoie ended up 18th at the checkered flag.  Corey is the son of two-time NASCAR Xfinity titlist Randy LaJoie who calls Norwalk, CT his hometown.
