Blaney Conquers Charlotte Motor Speedway

Ryan Blaney and the No. 12 BODYARMOR Team quenched their thirst for victory by leading a race-high 163 laps during Monday’s Coca-Cola 600 to take home the win in one of NASCAR’s Crown Jewel events.

The finish wrote a storybook ending to the weekend for Team Penske who celebrated an Indianapolis 500 win with Josef Newgarden the day prior, making it the first time a single team has swept both major motorsports events.

It was truly a meaningful Memorial Day Weekend commemoration as Blaney crossed the finish line in a special BODYARMOR Cherry Limo Camo scheme that donned the name of U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant David Kenneth J. Kreuter. NASCAR Salutes is an industry-wide campaign which unites the sport in showing respect and gratitude for those who served and those who continue to defend our freedom, and every car in the Coca-Cola 600 field displayed the name of a fallen solider as a small way to recognize our nation’s heroes.

As a part of the overall recognition, Sgt. Kreuter’s family even had chance to visit with Blaney during the race weekend and see their husband’s and dad’s name on track as the No. 12 rounded the high banks of Charlotte.

Blaney and his Team Penske teammates Austin Cindric and Joey Logano return to NASCAR Cup Series action this upcoming Sunday at Gateway in Madison, Illinois, less than 10 minutes away from downtown St. Louis. The green flag waves at 3:30 PM ET on FS1.
