Yes, you read that correctly—Cody Ware, the son of team owner Rick Ware, is taking the seat. Cue the muttering about nepotism now.

LaJoie, the likable, occasionally sharp-tongued journeyman, found himself in an odd midseason shuffle last year. In a move that baffled many, he took over the No. 51 RWR Ford in September after Justin Haley departed to claim LaJoie’s former ride at Spire Motorsports. This wasn’t just musical chairs—it was more like musical deckchairs on a slightly tilting cruise liner. LaJoie and Spire had already announced a mutually amicable split, so perhaps this game of swaps was their way of saying, “Let’s just get on with it.”
