CREWS AT IOWA: Friday night’s race will mark Brent Crews’ first start at Iowa Speedway.
IRP RECAP: Crews started second at Indianapolis Raceway Park after qualifying was rained out. Crews maintained his position for the first half of the race before coming down pit road during the lap 75 break. The team made quality adjustments during the break, and on lap 92, Crews took the lead and never looked back. The 17-year-old led the final 58 laps en route to his second ARCA Menards Series win of the year, and third win across all ARCA platforms this season.
FEAST IN THE EAST: In three ARCA Menards Series East starts, Crews has scored two victories and led 179 laps. In the lone race that Crews did not win, Crews’ day was cut short due to a blown tire, but was running second at the time of the incident.
BUILDING HIS RESUME: The 17-year-old arrives at JGR with a rapidly growing list of accomplishments, including three CARS Late Model Tour victories, multiple dirt midget victories, and holds the records for both the youngest champion and race winner in the Trans-Am TA2 ProAM series at just 14 years old. Most recently, Crews scored a coveted Golden Driller win in the Tulsa Shootout Non-Wing A-Feature to add to an already impressive resume.
